IR lights are flickering at night; tried but can't fix it

Smart Ir has issues with older cams. You have something reflecting and it’s trying adjust the IR emitters to compensate. Could be bugs or anything

Its click bait since it Isn’t clear. I saw it the opposite.

    1/1.8" cameras at night

No reputable member here posted anything to the sort of “default camera values work fine for LPR”. Id challenge you to find a post saying otherwise… You have plenty of information now on proper settings. You have been asked to show us your camera settings. Come back when you have done this so...

Anyone out there tried these Wago connectors?

It’s total click bait to say wire nuts are a “hazard”. They are the gold standard of wire splicing and have been for decades. Anything can be a hazard if done incorrectly. I refuse to watch a video that is that misleading right from the thumbnail.

IR lights are flickering at night; tried but can't fix it

Turn off Smart/auto IR and set manual illumination to 50% or so. See if that makes a difference.

Anyone out there tried these Wago connectors?

I’ve used them. They are fine but way more expensive that traditional wire nuts.

    1/1.8" cameras at night

Post all of your night time camera settings. Screen shot them and drag them here so we can see them. DID I read correctly above that you said you are using default settings? If so, that is your problem.

    1/1.8" cameras at night

The only fix for color at night is more lighting. As in, massive amounts of lighting. You won't be able to provide that much light in a neighborhood without drawing attention to your self. Forget about running color at night... I can't get those imgur photos to load full size. You don't...

    public website return private ip

That domain name also resolves to a private IP address for me. It isn’t routable on the internet since it’s in the class A 10.0.0.0/8 range. Whoever set up the DNS for that address/domain screwed that up.

Stack video frames to enhance face and catch Truck Thief?

Screen caps of UI3 are always going to be lossy. UI3 is lossy. You need to download the clip and play It back via VLC or similar to get the full resolution your cam captured the video in.

Help with initialisation of empiretech cameras?

I prefer to just temporarily change my computer address over installing and using the config tool. It's simple and takes 10 seconds. I really don't want to install any Dahua software on my computer that isn't really needed. YMMV

    1/1.8" cameras at night

You have to have very bright conditions to run color at night. I can do it for my business parking lot, but it's also bathed in very intense LED parking lot lighting from multiple directions. For my home, I run my LPR in BW.

Help with initialisation of empiretech cameras?

As @bigredfish says, you need to reach the cam on 192.168.1.108. I always temporarily change the IP on my working computer to an address on the same subnet of the camera (192.168.1.x). Then I connect to the camera and configure it's IP address to my network and then set set my desktop back to...

no idea what camera to get next, any help??

In my opinion, the 5442 (renamed to 54IR for Empire Andy) is still the best cameras to get for night time. The 4K-T/X suffer from blurry video when close up as noted above.

Reolink alternatives that get close to the price?

Figure out what you want and then post what you think and we can take a look at them. All his cameras are good but some will have better low light capabilities than others.

Reolink alternatives that get close to the price?

A bag of poop would offer better quality than a Reolink camera. Do you need all your cams to be PTZ or can they be fixed? This camera is the standard around here for surveillance in low light settings. Spec sheet says it goes down to -40C but I've never seen anyone mount one in that environment.

Review- New Design Tendelux 10 Watt IR illuminator.

This is why I went with the Axton unit (or really any unit with PoE) several years ago now. Wall warts just aren’t very reliable and it makes installing the emitter a lot more troublesome since you have to plug it into mains.

Is there a trick to doing tripwire with the new GUI?

I use intrusion boxes myself. Others seem to have better results with IVS. I think it is scene dependent. You may want to try both and test.

Is there a trick to doing tripwire with the new GUI?

I don't think the new GUI lets do you as many zigs and zags on IVS that you want like the older GUI did. At least, that has been my findings unless I'm doing it wrong too.

Hosting blue iris in the cloud

The problem is if your internet drops then you have no recorded video. I guarantee it would happen eventually and it will be the time you needed it not to happen the most. Anyone in the security sector who knows what they are doing is always recording locally and moving backups to cloud thereafter.

    Mini-Review - 5442-ZE-S3 AKA T54IR-ZE-S3 - Replacement to 5442-ZE

Correct. I don't see a need to run AI anywhere but the camera. I let the camera do the work and send the alerts to Blue Iris.

    Mini-Review - 5442-ZE-S3 AKA T54IR-ZE-S3 - Replacement to 5442-ZE

Same. I gave up on dumb motion via BI and CodeProject AI long ago. The built-in IVS from Dahua on these newer cameras is damn near bulletproof. Especially when you couple it with Pushover alerts. I never miss anyone coming into my driveway anymore with this setup.

    LPR @ 85-100 feet?

To 100 feet, this cam for sure: EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S2 1/2.8" CMOS 2MP 5mm–60mm Ultra Low Light. I have two of them, one being the older non-S2 model. Screenshots- Amcrest 4k (2.8 lens) vs Empiretech 4MP (2.8-12 lens)

I use IVS trip wire/intrusion zone on all my cameras. On my driveway cam, I have it setup so that I get a pushover alert as soon as someone drives or steps foot onto my driveway. I don't remember having to install a plugin. Maybe I did. The newer cameras running the newer web dashboard I...
