Sorry for asking too much, but if I upgrade to hikvision, should I change to their app, or so I need to still change the SSID to EZVIZ and use the EZVIZ app even with the hikvision fw?

I see in the post you linked to say to put the SSID to EZVIZ - does this regard if I intent to upgrade to hkvision too or should I set another SSID before upgrading to hkvision?

Remember they did exactly the same thing with the sqare AP points WHILE they was still for sale. I bought two AP points, then a week later got the message they was now EOL and if I wanted to upgrade I had to buy new. I like unifi, but this EOL is just to get people to buy more hardware

Im getting a bit afraid now buying the ezviz db1 to upgrade to hikvision if you guys start to get faulty devices with upgrade? Is it any point to upgrade to an onvif firmware if the rtsp stream on ezviz is stable?

Another alternative is to buy ring branded plug in adapters Plug-In Adapter - they have the power protection builtin and should work well with all this doorbells, and no need to tinker with the electric cabinet

Thats why I said "all", should say most. Thats why ring provide a transformer for european customers as most, probably not all in europe use 8-12, while in the us 16-24
  11. alekslyse

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

No, here in norway and europe "all" transformers are 8-12vac, so its almost always needed to be changed to a new one

But if I put it in, its the 24v I should go with?

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

But the input is 220v, so you cant put the transformer in. When its in place you can do the 24v side, but not put the unit in the electric cabinet
  14. alekslyse

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I can do the doorbell side, but in norway you can not do anything on the 220v side, not change an outlet, change a fuse or anything like that. Its extremely strict

Okay, so both I can install inside the chime I assume. I live in Norway, and its not legal to touch any electrical equipment. Since the transformer needs to be connected to 220V you need a professional to mount it or your house insurance will not be valid, plus you get a penalty requiring you to...

so still use the power kit with sage, or the included fuse? I have a ring transformer, but was hoping to get away with it as its not legal here to change it yourself, and I dont want to spend 300 usd for someone to change it

If you use DB1 without chime do you really need that beefy transformer? In the docs it say it should with no issues on 8V without a chime. How did you connect it? As usual, just attached the fuse inside the chime (disconnected the chime) and the sage how? since its not going to be connected to...

I used HomeSeer before, and me personally hate it cause of the cost and UI. Im an avid Home Assistant fan. Home Assistant matured so much the last couple of years the WAF is so high its used every day. Almost never issues with updates anymore, the most integrations on the marked, fast and...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Good idea. Need to investigate, but with onvif maybe two way audio might be possible in the future. The sad thing is I do have a doorbird doorbell that cost an arm and an leg just laying around. a 5-600 bucks doorbell that can just produce 480p VGA (the advertising is wrong, no HD)

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Only thing missing now is the possibility for two way audio so I can prerecord something like "no sellers, go away", "be there soon" or "put the package at the door"

Great, then I can just bypass the whole chime and use the fuse with the zigbee relay. Im using Home Assistant today with TTS announcing doorbell clicks on alexa in all rooms, and never used a chime at all. Until now used a Ring, but tired of not being able to record and paying subscription when...

Are you sure? In the manual https://s3.amazonaws.com/mfs.ezvizlife.com/UD11788B_EU15_DB1_QSG_V1.0.0_180920.pdf Page 6 step 7 (option b) it say if you dont have a chime install the included fuse wire. What if I install that fuse inside the chime? The doorbell today is a standard doorbell setup...

Is not bypass kits included in the doorbell packages as with the ring doorbell pro? (the ring have a bypass unit in the package), or is it possible to just buy something that I can mount inside the chime and unplug the wires from the chime to that?

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I see in the specs it say Would it be possible to bypass the chime, and just use the sage sensor? With smart home I dont really need the chime to trigger, and with that I might would be able to get away with not replacing the transformer? How would that work connection wise if ever?
  26. alekslyse

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I did guess that, even the specs say 7vac, but I bought a ring before, and it included a 24vac transformer (possible to choose between 12,16 or 24). I guess the best is to just use the 24vac setup? I was under the impression "everyone" in the US used 16vac transformers, but in europe "everyone"...

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for probably asking a question replied a million times, but a 223 page thread got a bit confusing. One more question, as Ezviz is the only available version here, and going to use blue iris as recorder and a ZigBee trigger in the chime for smart home, is it any benefit to upgrade to another firmware or stick with the brand one? I did see some bricked with firmware updates, but maybe user...

This might have been asked before, but here its two versions of the Ezviz, the Ezviz DB1that seems to be the one that is spoken about here, and another one Ezviz DB2 with a battery (I dont know if its any other difference than a battery). Is the DB2 known in this thread and firmware supported...
