    Cisco is way too $$ for the average user. Polycom is now just Poly - less expensive but like Cisco geared towards corporate needs. Recommend checking out the Logitech conferencing products. Good selection from personal VC to large conference rooms & covers most platforms.

    All ^^^ browsers use Chromium (Chrome, Edge Opera, Brave & more) as their code base, Firefox is the exception. They add their bows & ribbons on top of Chromium to cater to their needs.

    Outdoor 'shotgun' mics are $$, and may need phantom power. Low budget fix - try constructing a directional cone around the mic - a DIY parabolic mic.

    Hik moved up to the 5MP cube cam. Amazon has the 4MP in stock in a couple weeks. IPCamTalk store shows these out of stock.

    The cam specs call out a 3.5mm jack, but doesn't specify if TS, TRS or TRSS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve). Typically it's TRS.

    Cheaper, easier & better solution - will prevent any hum or interference: Use CAT6 balens to extend Audio signals. Many venders make these, I prefer RDL, they have extenders for balanced & unbalanced audio, passive & active Tx & Rx.

    It does have an IR rcvr, typically located somewhere in the front of the unit. Sometimes easy to find by shining a flashlight into the front. Shortcut fix is to block the front of the NVR. Another option is to change the IR device ID of the NVR by following the manual instructions, page 18...
