    Good points! Take the power question out of the equation by using external 12vdc power. The cam is rated at 22w, POE switch at 30w per port. Assume the other 4 cams connected are also less than 30w each. And this is not a load balancing switch, so nothing greater than 30w per port.

    Connect a know good camera into the same cabling as now used for the problem camera. Monitor for drop outs. Easy way to eliminate the cam vs. infrastructure cabling & hardware.

    Yes - goto the cam settings->Alerts tab->under Actions select 'On alert...' Here you can specify what to happen on cam alert, including sending pic from another cam.

    A correction for your above signal flow - HDMI extenders use point-to-point CAT cable, and cannot be routed thru a network switch. Need a 'home run' CAT cable from each TX to Rx. There are HDMI network Tx & Rx, but they are more encoders & decorders vs. extenders.

    A work-around if none of the above works: since the two cams are only 20' apart in the same relative area - you can assign the audio from the good cam to the bad cam.
