Help needed setting up HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P

Cool, I'll also look into a quieter fan. Surely there is a fan the same size that is quieter? I'm surprised that it is as loud as it is given the size of the thing. Good luck man. Any other questions let me know. I could take pics of the NVR screens if that helps and PM you? Off to eat some...

Help needed setting up HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P

LOL! I'm actually not sure, but if it were me, I would go into each camera and turn it off. Also, FYI, if you set up the on-screen text for each cam individually, it still works in the NVR as does any extra cam settings. The thread I am referring to is the the one you posted in with the pics...

Help needed setting up HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P

Phillip, did you read my thread? Did you watch the videos I linked? I know my firmware will be different by the sounds of it, but the settings should be the same. You had trouble coz you had the cameras set on different ip addresses. You then plugged them into a "sub-network" and of course the...

HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - some pics and first impressions

This is the one I have guys. Mine is on the loud side yes, but it is no louder than any PC fan I have owned. I actually have my NVR in the closet in my bedroom and I just shut the door and it's fine. I have mine set on motion detection and I can say that I have never really noticed the HDD...

Loud? I don't think it's that loud? I have it in my closet in my bedroom! I think it would get louder over time though - mine's only days old. Chris

HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - some pics and first impressions

James, I will be the first to admit that the the port forwarding is quite easy when you know what you are doing. You have to actually sit down and think about it logically. Ports (doors) have to be open to let traffic in. The IP addresses are the location or the ID's of the devices you want to...

HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - some pics and first impressions

Thanks for the info Alastair! I was not that worried about purchasing a 2Tb drive. I only need a maximum of 2 weeks worth of video and I can always add a second drive later on. 2tb seemed to be the best value for money at the time. Right now, I only have the 2 cams and I am planning on adding...

HikVision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - some pics and first impressions

The unit was purchased from E&M Security Center through AilExpress. It arrived safely and in the full retail box with English instructions etc. I am very impressed with the casing of the unit. To me it seems very sturdy and even with the lid off, the bottom part of the chassis was free from...

    Hello from Down Under (Australia).

Hello everyone. I have been sniffing around this forum for a couple of weeks now and have learnt quite a bit. Over the past couple of weekends I have fitted 2 Hikvision bullet cams at home and routed the network cable through the ceiling and down to where the NVR will live. Today I fitted a...
