Do you guys use the substream at all for Blue Iris, for LPR? If so, what resolution / bitrate to use? And is 15fps still ok for LPR?

5442 is impressive is there anything better?

I posted more details here Help: How can I improve my camera settings? IPC-T5442T-ZE The snapshot was taken while looking at blueiris' main stream, using blueiris' snapshot feature, not by taking an actual screenshot, so there should be no scaling involved. It is about the same quality as...

5442 is impressive is there anything better?

I got it to autofocus. I can't better the autofocus, or haven't tried hard enough. What I'm finding is that the image appears to be oversharpened hence I dialled down the "sharpness" setting in the Conditions -> Picture -> Sharpness

Help: How can I improve my camera settings? IPC-T5442T-ZE

Does this image look good for 5442T-ZE or can it be better by tweaking some settings?

5442 is impressive is there anything better?

Which 5442 did you get? I have the T5442T-ZE (varifocal) - a bit disappointed in the image quality - seems way oversharpened. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a 4MP image, or maybe the varifocal isn't as good as the fixed lens version. I've dialled the sharpness way down but it is still too...

Blue Iris Remote WAN address changes after system reboot?

AFAIK your WAN IP address could change if you a) don't have a static IP from your ISP, and b) your router/modem rebooted. It won't be affected by blueiris reboots. You can probably ask your ISP to give you a static IP, so it doesn't change. If they can't/won't, then you'd need to "refresh...

IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

I believe I have done all the above, and BI would create an alert marked as "External". However, the triggers were mostly (if not all) miss i.e. false positives. The alert clips showed nothing happened. No cars etc. At this point I'm going to just use BI's motion detection because I want to be...

IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

Thanks for the warning @ArnonZ. At this point, I haven't really used the IVS yet. I tried it a bit earlier (on the Dec 2020 firmware) but couldn't really figure out how to get it to work with BI properly. So at the moment I'm just using BI's motion detection system. I will revisit this maybe...

Dahua cameras and integration with home automation setup

In the past 2 weeks, I've bought 4 cameras from @EMPIRETECANDY via his aliexpress shop - shipped to Australia, arrived in about a week or so. Although I have a Centos server that's running OpenHAB, Plex, and serve as a NAS, I have set up a dedicated PC running Windows + BlueIris as per the...

I am a bit confused. I have 3 IPC-T5442T-ZE just bought from Andy. The Version is V2.800.15OG004.0.R, Build Date: 2020-12-03 What is the latest stable firmware to use and where to get it from? how to cancel when only bird is detected, but not when there's a car+bird?

My understanding is that the "To Cancel" input in the camera's Artificial Intelligence / Deepstack is so when a car + person + bird was detected and I entered "bird" in the "tocancel", it will cancel the trigger? I want a trigger cancelled only when bird is detected without car/person/other...

Missing about 62 seconds of recording (signal loss / no signal)

I can't say I've performed every optimisation, but I've done probably most of it, like direct to disk, setting the frame/iframe to 15fps, setting the exposure to manual, etc. I will go through it again. The computer was a refurbished one, it came already installed with windows, and I just used...

Missing about 62 seconds of recording (signal loss / no signal)

Googling "blueiris no signal" I found quite a few hits from blueiris forums. No definite answer but I found one post by IAmATeaf "No signal" errors? - Blue Iris that might be the answer. It's under Camera Config -> Watchdog -> Interpret Monochrome video as a loss of signal. Mine were on for...

Missing about 62 seconds of recording (signal loss / no signal)

This happened again even after I've moved my network connection to the onboard nic. It happened at around the same time, 5:36pm I was in front of BlueIris when it happened, and this is what I saw: About a minute later it recovered. So I can rule out the USB ethernet dongle.

Good question. As far as I know, it isn't:

Missing about 62 seconds of recording (signal loss / no signal)

What is strange is that they seem to occur 12 hours / 24 hours apart, but yeah, I agree unless it's BlueIris, the USB Dongle could be the culprit. It does seem to be the weakest link here. I will switch to the onboard NIC and monitor this issue again in the next few days. I think/hope the USB...

Missing about 62 seconds of recording (signal loss / no signal)

Thanks for all the pointers on what to check. Skip below to the big red text in the middle of the post. The difference between the two clocks - I will fix that once I am running the cameras in a separate subnet, and the cameras will use the NTP server on the BlueIris machine. Direct to disk...

Missing about 62 seconds of recording (signal loss / no signal)

Whilst reviewing my recording, it appears that blueiris didn't record / skipped about 62 seconds of footage. I've attached the video here, I am running it at 2x but it happens whether I'm playing it at 1x or higher. The missing footage starts 8 seconds into the attached movie, the BI overlay...

BI not triggering when people were walking in the distance

I have turned off the camera IVS and going back to BlueIris' motion detection. I have set up Zone A and B, so that Zone A covers half of the road, and Zone B covers the other half of the road. I've also set up Zone C for the end of my driveway and Zone D for the inside of the driveway, so that I...
