which setting causes 5241E-Z12E blur with even slow motion?

Any chance you have another identical cam to mount in that same location? And start with - for example - @samplenhold's settings? ('m sure other people have very similar settings which also work for their situations, I know everybody's situation will be slightly different.) Then you can...

which setting causes 5241E-Z12E blur with even slow motion?

Very interesting, I too have fuzziness in the middle and crisp clarity on the left and right sides, I'm gonna try this tonight. If I recall, it's only on one of my LPRs.

which setting causes 5241E-Z12E blur with even slow motion?

@samplenhold's settings were the dope for my setup right out of the box, a few zoom and focus tweaks, and the creeps can't squeak by! Like Flint dude ^^ I'm getting about 6 frames at 15 FPS, one of 'em is zoomed all the way in at 1200.

Opinions on Cloud based video surveillance systems ?

Pretty much same here, this foray was purely a need for me, and my personality drove me to satisfy that need in the best manner possible. It has turned into a side-hobby, but the value of its presence and my need for it remain primary. LPR was also the pinnacle of awesomeness for me, I'm...

A "hobby" which happens to produce an extremely valuable output: video proof and evidence.

Build an affordable P.A. system for my driveway?

Thank you, thank you. Your response is somewhat timely; yesterday marked one week since I finally formally filed a report at the SJPD, and to my surprise, they did file it (at least for the time being) under Penal Code 646 (Stalking). I am hoping to hear from a detective soon, the officer...

New Member here, Add a camera + problem in BI

What I was saying was, if you attempt to add a camera into BI with an IP address that is already configured in BI with a previously implemented camera (i.e. two duplicate IP addresses in BI), then when you attempt to enable the new camera, BI will find it, display the feed from the newly-added...

New Member here, Add a camera + problem in BI

Early on, when I got real (over)confident about adding cameras and how fast and easy it is to initialize and then "add" them in BI, I did that^^^ very thing; it was really strange to me because what would happen was BI would momentarily display the new feed in the window/pane for the first cam...

    oopsie

Heck, I never saw anybody jump back into anything and back up. The video I saw ends with the van kissing the little truck's ass :) At 0:16, a second after the van starts rolling, the resolution switches to hi-rez....is this the effect of a cam on substream until motion is detected?

    Any Cord Cutters Here?

I too experienced that bizarro-ness. I was reminded about this thread when I randomly checked e-mail and saw a reply notification, then I clicked the link and it was dead. Searched everywhere, no cord-cutter thread. But if you check a newer thread titled "OTA Stuff" or similar, you can see...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

I'm pretty sure there's only a mic in that camera. Here's a pic I just took of my porch cam, I turned all the other lighting off and this is with only a 9-watt LED (60 watt equivalent) light bulb in my porch fixture, so you can expect at least this good a lighting. (Pardon the construction...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

@IAH343, I should elaborate a bit to add context to an earlier statement I made, it will make more sense: the part about the "talk" function on those stick-up cameras that I found laughable was the fact that the sound quality and power (ability to throw sound) was pathetic, it was on par with a...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

No offense meant here at all, but you still have the new "consumer" mentality thinking (only) two in front. My setup is very similar to sebastiantombs' arrangement, and with 6 in front (4 turrets and 2 LPR), I find I want (need) more. If you can, utilize undereave areas to stash the cameras...

Pros and cons of IR floodlights?

There is such a thing as "too much" IR, which can result in washout of your images. You really should confirm that your cam IR is inadequate before exploring supplemental illumination. And, no, IR per se won't increase FPS and shutter, that's up to you to tune as required.

Noob: Setting up cameras and network configuration

Not sure where you reside in the "United States," but I'd discourage placing anything in the attic if at all possible. My attic in the San Jose metro area easily reaches 120° in the summer, that will cook most electronic devices in due time...and troubleshooting can be a real headache when gear...

    Any Cord Cutters Here?

2.5 years ago, cold-turkey, no streaming. Only thing I still miss is Monday Night Football. Got fed up with DirecTV ratcheting up prices every year, when it hit $125 a month, I said "fuck this." Got a Channel Master ULTRAtenna 60 and pull in about 100 channels. Of course, about 20 are Viet...

Opinions on Cloud based video surveillance systems ?

Except Natey2 sort-of carries the torch and plays devil's advocate on subjects like these, so it keeps the discussion going ("stirring the pot," as they say?). I'm not criticizing it either way, newb as I am, I like to hear both sides of the pulpit preach, I enjoy the replies to further...

The Typical picture of a Perp on Nextdoor-type Apps with Consumer Grade Cameras like Ring, Nest, Arlo, Canary, Wyze, etc.

What's really fucked here is, every time there's a shooting, the politicians take to the airwaves with fists pumping and repeat their same ol' shit: "We need gun reform and we need it now!" When what these ignorant fucks really need to address is "revolving door" reform and how their senseless...

Poor IR contrast in new Tennessee license plates

A friend of mine from Dubuque came out to visit about 10 or more years ago, and the first thing I noticed on his car was the printed plates. Not sure which company's technology was used in the manufacture, but I believe Iowa's plates have been printed for at least that long of a time.
