As far as i know you just need the one for PAL or NTSC. I don't know what that generic one is about honestly. I have installed the PAL binary and it works. Some changes in the WebUI and the settings (for instance, there is no more General IVS settings tab anymore and no way to set Track-limits)...

Thanks. Just installed the newest PAL firmware. Camera is operational again at 50fps.

Yes, i upgraded also just now, but the other way round: from NTSC to PAL. No problems yet. Will keep the group updated.

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

@wxman Did you experience difference between NTSC and PAL firmwares? I'm having a lot of issues with my SD59225U-HNI PTZ which is set to NTSC firmware. I am wondering if i should upgrade it to newer PAL firmware. Doesn't it brick the camera?

There seems to be a new 2017 firmware release. My camera is a SD59225U-HNI PTZ Did anyone try it yet? Is it safe to install? And if so, which version should i use? In my country PAL is the standard, however the PTZ came with NTSC firmware installed. I prefer PAL. Can i run the PAL version...

Is this the right way to set it up? I used 3 vertical markers (length 1.76m each) and 1 horizontal marker (length 5m) to calibrate a certain area. But i haven't seen any effect on my autotracking result (which still fails many times, especially after sunset).

I wish I knew how. I can figure out most of the other setting tabs, but these Global IVS settings tab holds the key to good or bad autotracking imho. I have no idea how to set up those area's and the help page is abacadabra to me.

What do you mean by 'it re-learns' when you restart the camera?

Haven't heard from @EMPIRETECANDY since people are reporting this kind of issues. I agree fully that a camera of this price should work as advertised. @EMPIRETECANDY, what can we do here? I'm running most current firmware and documentation about settings in this camera is urgently needed to make...

I'm getting so frustrated with this ptz. Perfect by day, useless by night. I keep trying and tuning forever, but I simply cannot get autotracking working consistantly after dawn. Tried all possible combinations of settings and in color and B&W, but it fails to track correctly most of the time.

I don't even think you can change that on a Hikvision NVR. I wouldn't know where to change the stream in live view.

These are some screenshots from my NVR screen. Guess which one is my PTZ? (clue: it's the ugliest image)

Would be totally cool if you could share your setup once you find out what you did. Hahaha. My Hik NVR shows in 16:9. The output on my screen however is terrible (like a very high pixelation or low dpi issue or something), but that must be the low quality HDMI output on that NVR. When i see it...

I'm using a Hikvision NVR with 2 Hikvision fixed camera's and 1 SD59225U-HNI PTZ (defined as ONVIF camera). Do alarm triggers only work hardwired or can i use the alarm output from both fixed cams through the NVR to trigger PTZ action? Does anyone have experience with this?

@beingaware How much would you suggest to set the contrast? I have mine set to 55. Should i go higher to help the autofocus?

Same experience here. I tried also all possible setting variations, but i come to the conclusion that in my situation colour focusses faster than B&W. And also after 8-10x zoom it really starts falling back and it's struggling to focus on anything. At higher than 20x zoom it doesn't focus at all...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Here 3 nighttime shots. First in colour and then 2 in B&W. I am not really happy with the quality. Focussing takes forever and when it finally gets a focus lock, the object/subject has already disappeared. Also i find the B&W not much better than the colour footage. Or is it just me thinking...

Hi @beingaware @ljw2k can you be more explicit about the settings that made such improvement? I mean, to which values did you crank up the balance and flattened the contrast? And how did you set the aperture priority and WDR balance iso/clarity? Perhaps @ljw2k can provide some screenshots? I...

@nayr, do you have a sample video from your B&W footage that you can share? I experienced not such good results as you describe with B&W and moving targets. I only get bright shiny eyes and extremely overexposed license plates when people or cars pass by. Also it takes a long time for the camera...

Why not set it to 60FPS? Doesn't that affect the overall image quality in a positive way? Why 25-30FPS?

I understand that, but at B&W it's almost impossible to recognize people and cars (and that is what i'm using it for mostly). In B&W my footage isn't all that much better anyway.
