DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

The one I have issues with was bought from an AliExpress seller (not a forum member) and I noticed the bottom seal on the box had been broken. So anything could have happened to it. I guess they know people are unlikely to pay the costs to return a camera to China. I have had issues with other...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

That's a common thing here, they all wear hoodies and covid masks (or balaclavas.) Vehicle plate identification is often useless here too as stolen vehicles are used or stolen number plates are often fitted.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

It's an issue with that is worse with that camera. I was looking at the 4MP Colorvu and the minimum focus distance was worse (IIRC) for a given FOV. (Could be wrong there.) The low light capability was very high on my priority list, plus more pixels to improve the chances of getting more detail...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Ignore the useless responses posted on here by someone who has never seen the lighting conditions at my place. That camera came badly focussed from new, with the LHS being worse. I adjusted it (as best I could) but the LHS is still out of focus compared to the rest of the picture. You'd need...

AcuSense camera's with an AcuSense NVR

You should be able to set that up to occur by using the Smart settings on the camera's GUI, then set the Action/ Trigger to"Notify Surveillance Centre" (IIRC.) I've got an older 7608NI-I2/8p and the cameras send the Smart Alerts to the NVR for Humans/ Vehicles fine. Mine seems to do that as...

    Hikvision not detecting vehicles

I haven't played around with that on mine, so don't know. Be very careful that you don't lock yourself out by resetting everything.

    Hikvision not detecting vehicles

You log in by hooking a laptop via the NVR lan port. Use Internet Explorer 10 and you need to set the laptop network address to match the NVRs -192.168.1.1 from memory?

CCTV for human/vehicle detection and alert

    It would easily do 2MP.

    Hikvision not detecting vehicles

You might need to update the NVR firmware. That and check you've got "Notify Surveilance Centre" ticked on "Linkage Method". I also use Motion and Intrusion detection rather than line crossing and tick the Human and Vehicle boxes. You need to set it up on the camera's webpage logged in on your...

CCTV for human/vehicle detection and alert

Get the cameras that support AcuSense. IIRC there are very limited AcuSense capabilities on the NVR's that support it- like it's only a low number of cameras running at low resolutions. I'm running four Acusense cameras on a 7608NI-I2/8P. They sure beat all the false alerts I was previously...

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

I've updated to the latest Euro firmware from here https://www.hikvisioneurope.com/eu/portal/?dir=portal/Technical%20Materials/00%20%20Network%20Camera/00%20%20Product%20Firmware/G5%20platform%282xx3G2%202xx6G2%28C%29%202xx7G2%28C%29%203xx6G2%28C%29%203xx7G2%28C%29%201x83G0%29/2xxxG2%28C%29...

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

There's little to no effect with WDR from 0 to 40, then a massive step at 41.... followed by next to no change up to 100.

DS-2CD2087G2-LU settings to deal with motion blur and identification

Yes, I was just experimenting with BLC, HLC and WDR to see what happened. I know it's undesirable at night or to have WDR too high during the day. I'd given up on HLC at night because of the big step at 41, but then discovered (by accident) it's effect was reduced again at higher values.

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

The 8MP DS-2CD2386G2-I(U) is also affected. WDR also exhibits a similar step on both models, but around the 50 mark IIRC.

DS-2CD2087G2-LU settings to deal with motion blur and identification

I was experimenting last night and WDR shows similar behaviour. IIRC it was more around 50 where it stepped though.

DS-2CD2087G2-LU settings to deal with motion blur and identification

Try up to 1/150 and enabling the HLC - note my recent post on how the HLC isn't linear on the 8MP Colorvu. Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

Has anyone else noticed the non linear response of the HLC control in the 8MP Colorvu cameras? See the image below, top pic is with HLC set at 40, middle is 41 (note massive change in scene) and the the last pic is with it set at 100. It's almost as if the highest HLC setting is 41and after that...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Andy, it's the lack of light out past the front of the car- on the street and in the yards of the houses across the street- causing the issues at my place. It's hard to see anything across the road with your eyesight at night- that's how dark it is. I've got multiple lights on the house, but the...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

For getting decent results (capturing moving subjects) the exposure time is critical- that's why both were set at 1/150 s. (1/150 for the Hik, 6.67mS for the Dahua.) I chose 1/150 as that is what I've been running since putting the Colorvu's up. The Dahua has manual gain control- as I mentioned...

Exactly why I posted the examples. Same lighting conditions and exposure times.

Hivision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR - change resolution of manual captures higher than 1920x1080?

Is there a way to change the resolution of manual captures (e.g. when playing back footage you click on the capture icon) from 1920x1080 to the full resolution of the camera? Mine does 1920 x 1080 Jpegs for 8MP cameras and I can't find any option to change it. I'm running 4 series firmware.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Yes, that can be an issue! I update a couple of cameras every 3 to 4 years. The Colorvu's have definitely been a big step up in low light performance. I've updated two cameras in the backyard with a different model 8MP- with IR capabilities- as I don't want the backyard lit up with visible...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

For anyone wanting to compare the Hikvision Colorvu G2 8MP cameras to one of the older low light favourites, the 2MP varifocal Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z (with a 1/2.8 sensor, the camera locked in colour mode.) Both were set to 1/150s with the gain on the 5231 adjusted to around 70. (Even that was...

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

What firmware are you running? I don't have that option in the menu on mine. Are the LEDs both the same- not different spreads like a wide and spot?
  25. T

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Your IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E (I assume that's the model you mention above) has a " 1/2.8" 2MP Progressive Scan Starvis CMOS " sensor- apparently the same sensor/ size as the previously mentioned older 2MP Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z? But with a much more powerful 64mm max f1.4 lens (horizontal FOV 59 to only...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

The 4mm 8MP G2 Colorvu outperforms the Hik 3MP varifocal DS-2CD2H35FWD-IZS, even with the 3MP zoomed in with a much narrower FOV. Both for light sensitivity and clarity (detail) e.g. reading number plates at the same distance. You're looking at specs for colour at 0.005 lux compared to 0.0005 lux.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

The Colorvu 8MP G2 easily outperforms the 2MP Dahua Starlight varifocal I replaced and the Hikvision 3MP "Powered by Dark Fighter" (fixed and varifocal versions.) Technology is improving all the time. Simply stating a 2MP outperforms a 4K/ 8MP at night is wrong- it all depends on what camera...

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

It should match fairly well. It's not a really yellow warm white, more probably between natural white and warm. I'm not aware of individual LED control (unlike some other Hik cameras which have a high and low beam setting for IR.)
  29. T

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

It's a warm colour - assuming it's the same as the other Colorvu G2 cameras. You can change the white balance settings on the camera's GUI if you find the scene colour temp isn't to your liking.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Given you're looking at going from 2MP to 8MP that will compensate somewhat. For the Hik Colorvu it's setup in the camera's web GUI - you select "Motion" or "Intrusion" and can tick "Human" and "Vehicle" as options. Then select "Notify Surveillance Center" and it tags the events on my NVR...
