    US Elections (& Politics) :)

The Democrat primary process is such that the superdelegates pretty much decide whose name will appear on the voting ballot. RFK would have to run as an independent to ever appear on ballots, and that process punishes independents since every state has different requirements that must be met...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

There's folks with actual ambition though, like Gavin Gruesome, and Michelle doesn't have it. Hate to admit it, but more people probably like Gruesome better than Biden. The Dems could run absolutely anyone else and win, but they are going with the decomposing corpse.

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

Seems pretty clear Michelle doesn't want it, otherwise all she'd have to do is whisper it and the Democratic party would activate to make her POTUS. If I'm being honest, I want to see Republicans get the first female POTUS just to annoy the Democrats. Shut down the stupid diversity rhetoric.

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I don't drive often for work, but when I do, it can be 800 miles through Idaho and Montana. You don't want range anxiety going up a mountain pass in a near whiteout and -25 temperature. I went with a gasser for a work car instead of the EV I'd like to own someday.

Other countries enforce immigration law. Try overstaying your visa in Nicaragua and see if you can get out of jail without paying a huge bribe.

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I average about 4hrs between stops when I'm going long distances, and when I do stop, it's for ~5min if for gas and bathroom, or ~10min if I'm getting food too. I'd be willing to wait 20 minutes to charge, but the problem is you can't drive another 4 hours on a 15 minute charge. In a multi-car...

That's nearly 5% of the US population... and why aren't the Venezuelans illegally occupying their surrounding countries that also share the same language? Is there something that would compel people to live in a country with a totally different language instead of their own, or other culturally...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I've been saying for an eternity now that a plug-in truck or large SUV would be perfect. The first hybrid was the Honda Insight, and it gets nearly the same fuel economy regardless if the battery works or not because the car is so small that hybrid technology doesn't really matter. Where you...

I saw the deal on SlickDeals. Normally you've got a couple hours to a day to get that price. There's a Lenovo X1 Nano for $600 mentioned on Slickdeals at the moment. Solid product line, just that it's an 11th gen CPU and 13.3" screen (I prefer 14", but would rather have 13.3 over 15). My...

Yep, I've got a cheap Amcrest mounted high on a rental house, and it was barely adequate to show a person-sized blur opening the doors of car-sized blurs in the driveway.

LOL! Just today on another forum I posted this, Ron Perlman playing himself in "Quest for Fire". Ron and John have the same Troglodyte mother.

    Bedtime

Yeah, super interested in using a body cam. Way too many interesting moments in person. Eliminates the temptation to "film" instead of act. All that said, I've probably slept in a car half a dozen times in my youth when I wasn't sober enough to drive. The super weird thing about me is that I...

Take it a step further and monitor your electrical panel to ensure the electric company isn't stealing from you, and you aren't stealing from you (wasted consumption). I installed an Emporia Vue energy monitoring system in my parents home and mine. It monitors the mains (total power...

I only read the title and not the post, and made a smartass comment because I saw a lot of people had already commented and probably provided good info... Now I've read the post, and questions like "brand of IP cameras I need to stay away from" aren't going to steer you right. The path to...

    Progressive Liberal Hypocrisy

Communism requires pretending everyone is good, and nobody is self-interested, which describes zero people. That's why it's a fail system. Misunderstand human nature, and your system will be hell on earth. Free markets leverage self-interest to extract potential from human motivation and...

The other stores closed because theft made them unprofitable. If a private business can't keep people from stealing, what is the government store going to do? Checkout clerks will be TSA employees doing full body cavity searches.

The Importance of Focal Length over MP in camera selection

I hear it said that 1 varifocal is needed to determine focal distances needed, and then to buy fixed focal length cameras... How much cheaper is a fixed focal length camera than varifocal? Is there a rule of thumb like varifocal is 25% more expensive? Besides that, I just never see fixed focal...

So do you think he shot her?

I just watched that video earlier today, and that's exactly what made me think of how inadequate a revolver is. Probably 50 rounds sent towards the suspect, and he lived. I'm oddly drawn to these videos even though I am sickened watching the demise of foolish people. A surprising number of...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I've never had even the slowest of leaks using probably 2 dozen or so plugs. I once had a leak so small that I was losing only about 5 PSI per month. It was difficult to locate with soapy water, because the bubbles produced from the puncture were about as small as from just spraying the water...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I'd estimate 90% of tire issues to be a simple puncture. I've fixed dozens over the years, and usually leave the wheel on. I've even repaired tires on the Segway with plugs. I consider tire plugs to be a permanent fix, for like $1. Locate the leak (usually obvious with a nail still being in...

So do you think he shot her?

Interesting the girl goes in first. I'd never let my wife go into a potentially dangerous situation, nor would she want to go. I happened to wake up around 4am (unfortunately common), and heard someone walking on the porch at 4:30. Got up, and thought maybe I have to take down a prowler. Then...
