    Lite H.265 series?

    Here's the guts of which models this is for (from the firmware Zip file): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Vendor>Dahua</Vendor> <Class>IPC</Class> <Serials> <Serial>IPC-HFW2230R-VFS</Serial> <Serial>IPC-HFW2230R-ZS</Serial> <Serial>IPC-HFW2231R-VFS</Serial>...

    Lite H.265 series?

Just upgraded the firmware for the IPC-HDW2531R-ZS...Oddly, I could not find this on the Dahua International website. I found it on the DahuaWiki for new 5MP "Starlight" Cameras: https://dahuawiki.com/USA/IPCamera/Pro/N52BF3Z Camera is working fine and displays the correct model number. Can now...

    8mp H.265 Lite "Starlight" Camera?

I wouldn't totally discount it because it's not labeled "Starlight". The 6mp 4631em-ase has the famed STARVIS sensor, but it's clearly not as bright as the 5mp "Lite" cam. Refer to this thread for examples : Lite H.265 series? They don't have the feature set of the other cameras, true, but...

    8mp H.265 Lite "Starlight" Camera?

Thanks guys, I talked w/ @EMPIRETECANDY and he should have some more of the H.265 Lite series (2mp) in stock next week. 8mp is still too new, so Andy said that will take longer. When he gets one in stock, I will definitely be buying one to compare it w/ the 4231EM-ASE (similar lux rating). In...

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

Posted one more shot comparing the H.265 Lite Series to the 6mp in that thread: Lite H.265 series? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's probably a better all around day/night camera than the 6mp (due to better details in low light). I would probably do a whole system in these if the lighting...

    Lite H.265 series?

Agreed, there's still no contest for the night-image-per-dollar to the 2mp 5231R-Z(E) series. If someone's looking to go just one step down though, the 5mp H.265 Lite Series is not that bad. I'm going to be using the 5mp for license plate capture (long distance w/ wide area to cover) roughly...

    Lite H.265 series?

Here's another comparison of the 5mp Lite vs. the 6mp in the dark (1/100, Gain 50, IR off) Granted, that's a pretty much useless image from both of them, but illustrates how much more light the 5mp is letting in w/ it's 1/2.7" Sensor vs. the 6mp 1/2.9" sensor

    Lite H.265 series?

Well, I would agree with you, however, it isn't consistent across all of the frame. To me, the 6mp does a better job on the pallets, while the 8mp does better with the logo on the red trailer. I'd say I 85% agree :-) My point is that it's not a big enough difference that I'd go out and buy all...

    Lite H.265 series?

Here's some daytime pics: 2mp 5mp 6mp 8mp @ 3840x2160 It seems like there should be more of a difference in detail between the 2mp and 5mp. This could be due to less sophisticated DSP? Also, I'm surprised there isn't much of a difference between the 6mp and 8mp (albeit slightly...

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

Here's the 6mp and 8mp to show you the difference (everything was calibrated to match the 6mp focal length, except the 8mp because it was a fixed lens :-) These are the same as the shots above, just un-cropped to show you the focal length difference: I have successfully (attempted) to...

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

The 2mp and 5mp (2531R-ZS) are zoomed in a little, so that will throw out knowing what the aperture is on those, but they are all F1.6 w/ the exception of the 2mp Starlight (5231R-ZE) 5mp F1.6 2mp F1.4 6mp F1.6 8mp F1.6 The 8mp has a disadvantage from being a little farther away (due to the...

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

Just wanted to post this quick comparison up. I'm really torn. Which is the best wide-angle Camera for detail @ night: 5MP IPC-HDW2531R-ZS (Varifocal 2.7-13.5mm) ~$140 from @EMPIRETECANDY or 6MP IPC-HDW4631EM-ASE (Fixed 3.6mm) ~ $140 from @EMPIRETECANDY

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

Some conclusions I've made with comparing 2/5/6/8mp cameras is that the 8mp cameras have little to no advantage @ night over the 6mp. Also, whenever you set the 6mp to any other resolution than 3072x2048 (the max res.) the image distorts as there are no other resolutions in the settings that...

Dahua New 5MP Starlight line up?

Ok Here's the long awaited night shots of the 5mp Non-starlight model (IPC-HDW2531R-ZS) and I have to say, it's much better (but still nowhere close to the 2mp True Starlight favorite). I posted this on another thread that seemed to be more fitting: Lite H.265 series? For $140, I think it's a...

    Lite H.265 series?

Here are night shots comparing a few of the higher megapixel cameras (including the "new" H.265 Lite 5MP IPC-HDW2531R-ZS). You can download the attached ZIP file for all the images, plus a few extra @ higher shutter speeds (1/60,1/120). All pictures were taken w/ the Cameras at Default...

    Lite H.265 series?

So far I'm very impressed w/ the "New" 5MP H.265 Lite series. However, it does have a narrower field of view as the sensor is 4:3 and not 16:9 or 3:2 like the others. Also, It doesn't have any of the advance video detection features of the more expensive "Pro" or Eco-Savvy models. It...

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

Yes, I quite understand that. For the actual implementation of this camera I will not be pointing it directly at that bush. I will post shots w/out IR so you can see what the image looks like without any IR at all.

Dahua New 5MP Starlight line up?

Sorry for the Bitmaps I'll upload JPEG's for the night shots. Is anyone interested in seeing stills w/ the shutter speed higher than 1/30? This is my test setup approx. 50 feet from bush out of second story window:

Dahua ePoE 6MP Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5631R-ZE)

I realize motion is a game changer. I'm just posting what the static shot looks like because it's the baseline from which all other exposure settings go off of. And also, why I set the exposures to 1/30 (so you can see what it looks like with an actually decent shutter speed aka the true test)...

Check out comparison of 6mp w/ new 5mp H.265 Lite series and 2mp Starlight: Dahua New 5MP Starlight line up? It seems like the 6mp retains the same or better detail, but is overall just darker at the same exposure settings as the 2mp Starlight. Exposure set to Manual 1/30 and Default (50) Gain...

New firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea NTSC and PAL 20180330

Dahua New 5MP Starlight line up?

I'm dealing w/ the Reolink (RLC-423 and 411) which only lets you adjust the shutter by ms. I've found that it still blurs slowly moving cars (parking lot) @ 9ms = ~1/100 shutter speed. (Yeah, it's a pitiful camera to grab license plates with, but it works fine if the cars are going slow enough.)...

Dahua 4k Starlight with 1/2 sensor (CVI only for now)

The specs compared to the HD-CVI models are eerily identical. If you check out the focal length (same 3.7-11mm zoom), aperture, everything...except the lux ratings, are the same. Anyone find these to buy yet?
  28. Burton_Flooring

Dahua 4k Starlight with 1/2 sensor (CVI only for now)

If these are indeed the same as the HD-CVI models, then the only thing they differ on is the lux rating (.005 vs. .003)...which leads me to believe if it's too good to be true...it ain't true. :-) (Please prove me wrong, please, oh please, oh please..)

Dahua New 5MP Starlight line up?

Yeah, no problem. However I was mistaken, it's the Fixed lens version (4631EM-ASE 3.6mm). And as I've heard around here, the fixed lens isn't always the same experience due to better optics in the varifocal models.

Can't find these to buy anywhere, but they are PoE 8mp w/ 1/2" Sensor and Lux ratings in the "Starlight" range. https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/productDetail/21477
