Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

I've placed two NVR's at a clients house and workplace with about 12 cams on each NVR. The buildings are connected via a single CAT6 cable but both have their own router with connection to the ISP (to keep the business and private apart). This CAT6 cable is connected to a switch which goes to...

Dahua Turret Cam and Junction Box Installation

Looks like a PFA130-E junction box. 1. Yes you can. Only problem you could face is if it rains, water will stay on top of the cable gland and find its way in easier. 2. G3/4" cable gland or a reducer from G3/4" to whatever is your preference. Could also screw the cap in the hole and feed the...

    temporarily disable push notifications DMSS

Only way I could think of is to set a really short period, like 00:00 to 00:01. Then you only need to change the latter back to 23:59 and its enabled. Don't believe there is an easy toggle in the app. EDIT: another thing I just thought of: you could also turn the notifications off for DMSS in...

Dahua PTZ Stuttering in Live View and Playback

I wouldn't revive such an old (+ 2 years) thread for this but rather start your own. When will the video freeze? When logged in directly to the cams GUI with a browser or also with other programs like SmartPSS or DMSS? What do you use to view the footage?

Help finding a floodlight ethernet / non-wifi camera

Possibly yeah. Or because it could replace an existing light fixture and use its wires, so the average home owner/consumer doesn't have to pull any cables at all.

Help finding a floodlight ethernet / non-wifi camera

Supply and demand. Dahua actually has the same one as Lorex (Dahua is their OEM), but also Wi-Fi only: Dahua Floodlight Why don't you pull them apart? Separate floodlight with PIR and a good POE cam. Or you could look into 'LED' variants of Dahua cams, they have built in warm white LED's, but...

Small PoE camera for under a soffit?

I'd recommend a mini wedge dome like a HDBW3541F-AS-M or HDBW3241F-AS-M for better night time quality. They're really small and you can hardly see which way the cam is looking. Here is it compared to a HDW5442T-ZE (photo courtesy of @zebrock )

The post is almost 2 years old, I'm sure this restaurant is already filled with cams.

Dahua I.P. camera and label / tag.

Do you mean Aliexpress? Could be a cam made for the Chinese market, which is why they could've taken the Chinese label off. These usually come with 'hacked' English firmware. If you ever try to update it, it'll most likely be bricked and unusable.

Dahua I.P. camera and label / tag.

It depends on the model. For bullets there is usually a label on the body and for turrets there is a tag on the cable. Also depends on where you bought it from.

    Question about SmartPSS

Never tried using Auto search, so wasn't really a problem for me. I always add manually. With the ConfigTool I do use Auto search which works well.

Problem with motion detection Dahua Outdoor Station VTO 2101E-P-S1

I recently had this problem with a clients NVR5216-16P-4KS2 where one cam wasn't able to record motion anymore. I solved it this way: In the NVR GUI go to Alarm -> Video detection -> Period (Schema in Dutch) -> Standard (bottom left corner of the new pop-up screen) -> Save -> Save Somehow the...

    Question about SmartPSS

If you add them or the NVR manually with the '+ Add' button next to the 'Auto search' button, will that work? Just type the IP address, username and password.

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

Seeing the photo in your first post I'd go with surveillance. Which is a lot, if true. Would drain the battery of my dash cam in an hour or two and my car battery in about 3 to 4 days. If you only drive short trips every few days it'll definitely be problematic, unless you get another leisure...

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

More like $700+ if the cam plus shipping is $577, VAT will also be calculated over the shipping cost. But a lot of sellers put a lower value on the package so the VAT could be lower.

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

Not a bad price but a long wait time. I'd really ask Andy. For the fees you can count on VAT (22%) if the Alibaba sender is honest on the invoice on the package and a fee for the shipping company (€10 - €20). Still I'd pull them apart and just use two cams which you can aim separately for the...

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

You could ask Andy if he stocks it (kingsecurity2014@163.com). Those Alibaba cams could be made for the Chinese market with 'hacked' firmware to English and when you update the cam with regular firmware it'll brick the cam. Also most times when asking the actual price to ship just one cam to...

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

Also, they cost just under €1.000 here. You could get a Dahua HDW5442T-ZE, HFW5241E-Z12E, NVR5208-8P-4KS2 and a WD Purple hard disk for that money.

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

Don't have much experience with Hikvision, but those seem like really cool options. One problem is that the varifocal zoomlens only goes to 20mm, which won't be enough to cover the 50m where your car is at. Another thing is that the panorama cam will be looking the same way so you probably...

Camera on a condominium terrace for 50m surveillance

For that distance I'd recommend a HFW5241E-Z12E. Vari-focal 5 to 60mm. It has LEDs for night lighting but they're in the infrared spectrum, so you can't see the beam with the naked eye. If the car is well lit you could even turn them off. I wouldn't try to use one camera to monitor both the...

NVR with limited data budget - can anyone help?

And for the cameras, it really depends on your budget, surrounding and what you want to achieve. If you just want observation of what happened, you'd be fine with something like a HDW2431TM-AS, they go for less than €100,-. They don't offer a lot of AI functionality apart from regular motion...

NVR with limited data budget - can anyone help?

I often use the NVR4108-4KS2 with or without POE ports for smaller installs at peoples homes. Goes for < €150 for the non-poe version. Haven't had any problems with them as of yet. Only thing to consider is the lower bandwidth, if at some point you really want 8 cameras on that recorder, it...

NVR with limited data budget - can anyone help?

I would use a Dahua NVR with POE ports (like a NVR5208-8P-4KS2, available through the trusted vendor here Andy) and block all internet access to the NVR in your (MiFi) router. Then, if you want to view the footage you want to use a VPN like OpenVPN. Some routers have this functionality built...

    Options for mounting a IPC-Color4K-T180

Another difference is the diameter. The cam will be slightly smaller than the 137 box, the 130 will fit perfectly.

How to setup second location to access and control Dahua NVR

Easiest would be to just use another desktop or laptop which is on the same network as the NVR and to log in to it using a browser and its IP address. If you want to (re)view footage I'd recommend SmartPSS. There are active HDMI splitters available with which you could view it on two different...

    Options for mounting a IPC-Color4K-T180

The Color4K-T180 is actually a IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE and if you look under 'Accessories' you won't find the PFA130-E over there, but instead they say you need a PFA137, which has the same diameter but less space for the pigtail. But if you look at the datasheet of both the cam and PFA130-E...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ
