    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

I've had this happen too where it seems it has a new 0 position, but after a short while it reset itself to the right position. Another issue I'm having: when using DMSS or SmartPSS to move the PTZ manually, it will sometimes be stuck in a command and just keep on turning around and around. Can...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Haven't dialed that in, but with a 1/2.8" sensor for 4MP, night time video isn't going to be incredible.

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

So that's what that's doing! Thought it meant it was looking for targets that size before tracking. Thanks.

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Probably asked before, but are there any settings to be made with auto tracking, apart from the duration? I'd like it to zoom more in to the target, e.g. for a person it stops zooming when the height of a person is about 1/3 of the height of the image.

A better photo of the SD4A425DB-HNY with the PFB303W and PFA101, temporary mounted on a piece of wood hanging from the door. Thanks @EMPIRETECANDY !

Haha this is a screenshot from a quick video I made, I'll post a better quality photo of the temporary mounting solution later on.

    Cliff Notes query?

Used multiple Seagate Skyhawk's in that project, they can handle up to 180 MB/s or 1440 mb/s of writing.

    Cliff Notes query?

Depends on the bitrate. If you run the cams with CBR (Constant BitRate, so always the same) at 8192 kbps, it doesn't matter if its a 4K cam running at 30 fps or a 2MP at 8 fps. It just means that each frame gets way more bandwidth with the latter. So theoretically you could fit 39 cams with...

    Cliff Notes query?

Just plug your router in one of the ports of the external switch, like this picture I got from the internet: I believe this has to do with the amount of live views the NVR can decode on the HDMI/VGA port. So if you plug a TV in the back of the NVR, you can only view four 4K cams at a time...
  12. J

    Cliff Notes query?

You are right. You can use both, as long as you don't exceed the amount of cams the NVR is made for. So for a 8 channel NVR with POE, you could for instance feed 6 from the ports on the back and 2 from an external source (switch/injector), but the total can't exceed 8.

How to stop Smart PSS Tone on PC

I think this is the best thread which explains most of it: How to Secure Your Network (Don't Get Hacked!) And also the post within it: VPN Primer for Noobs

How to stop Smart PSS Tone on PC

I'd recommend to remove/obfuscate your public IP address from your post. Anyone could reach your NVR login page, which is especially easy because you port forwarded HTTP port 80, which is a big security risk for your network.

European import tax when ordering from AliExpress?

In the Netherlands there isn't. I believe the harmonised (HS) code is 85258300, so should be the same in Germany but you can check.

Geen probleem. Kan de reached max capacity niet nabootsen met dezelfde NVR. Wanneer krijg je de melding? Pas bij 10 tripwires krijg ik de melding 'Limit reached'.

Only trip wire emails on one camera

If you're receiving emails from one camera it means the email settings are correct. In the NVR, go to AI -> Parameters -> IVS -> Channel 2/3/4 and make sure that for each tripwire you have 'Send email' checked. This setting is under 'More settings' when you click on an IVS rule. In Dutch ;) :

Setting up spotter camera for ptz

Perfect! Thanks a lot, exactly what I was looking for. We have two seperate driveways on both sides of the house going to the back (each driveway already has its own cam) so I want to use the PTZ to look and autotrack at the driveway where the spotter cams pick something up.

Setting up spotter camera for ptz

Yea I saw that, but I specifically mean autotrack after spotter trigger with an NVR. The NVR part of your post loops back to this thread where only moving to another preset is shown, or am I missing something?

Setting up spotter camera for ptz

Since I got lucky in a lottery some days ago (SD4A425DB-HNY): wondering if its also possible to make a rule where the PTZ moves to another preset and auto tracks the vehicle/person over there when a spotter cam triggers it? Any experience @bigredfish ? So the cam always looks one way, but when...

    App DMSS connection failed

Could you give a bit more details? Is live view working? Are you able view footage from a different device, like a laptop with SmartPSS or the NVR itself with a monitor? How did you connect to the NVR, via P2P, local IP address and VPN or WAN IP address with port forward?

    DMSS Android LTE problem

There is a new option under the settings of a NVR called 'Third Party DDNS'. This might be why DDNS doesn't work when adding directly anymore.

    DMSS Android LTE problem

Alright I think I'm onto something. @duplo , do you by any chance use a DDNS or even any domain name in the 'Address' field of the device you've added, instead of a IP adres? I removed the NVRs with DDNS as hostnames and now it works flawlessly. Then I re-added those as regular IP addresses and...

    Hiding in the network

Do the cams have to be on the same network physically? Best would be to have them on their own network, either via VLANs or by having them on their own switches which connect seperately to the NVR. With VLANs, if the static DHCP list is on 192.168.1.X, you could have the cams on 192.168.2.X or...

Turret vs Bullet IR / Overall Performance Difference

That's true! Although this doesn't tell the whole story, depends on the model. HFW5442T-ASE has 4 leds and HDW5442TM-AS only 2, but they both have the same spec'd illumination distance of 50m. HFW5442E-Z4E has only 3 leds and the specs say it has 120m illumination distance.

Turret vs Bullet IR / Overall Performance Difference

The cons for both in my experience, where each con is a pro for the other variant: Bullets tend to attract more bugs/spiders Bullets are bulkier, so will be more visible on ones house Turrets aren't able to have as much zoom Turrets have less IR range
