    Rooftop Camera ?

Thanks, roof is Certainteed 50 years shingles and roof is a 6/12 pitch hip roof. That mount looks solid, I can prolly get a roofer to install for me “off the clock” and I can supply everything. Just need to figure out how to run Cat6 without causing issues. I’d think a 6’ mount would be plenty...

Reason 4,986 to lock your doors at all times

Agree with garages full of chit AKA chit I THINK I need lol. It’s turning into some expensive chit. Garage in our new house is just shy of 1,200 sq ft. Maybe I’ll get my Tundra and the wife’s Highlander in it LMAO.

    Rooftop Camera ?

Pretty much would be a weather cam and we’ve got a hip roof that I really don’t want to penetrate. Getting the camera to the right height poses a big issue.

Help with a new complete system, Newbiw here

Don’t rush into this trust me, there’s a hell of a lot to learn. There’s no plug & play solution. Read the Wiki and Cliffnotes, you’ll save time and money and get the results you seek and get a great education in the process.

Reason 4,986 to lock your doors at all times

Damn skippy, ain't worth a crap in the glove box when you need it. Mine is on my ankle or inside the waste band of my jeans or shorts. Ready at a moments notice, having retired from law enforcement I've seen a LOT and choose not to be a statistic.

    Rooftop Camera ?

Sure have but in the military the taught me “where there is a will there is a way”. I reviewed my house plan again and so as to avoid outing bolts thru my roof I’d mount at about 20’ which means I need a longer mount, say 9’ and that poses a new issue. We shall see, the roof deck will be spray...

    Rooftop Camera ?

Anyone ever mount a cam up on their roof top with any success? In looking at a few pics of various PTZ cameras, I came up with what is probably a dumb idea but what the hell. Our new house sits on the bay, well directly across the street. In measuring, the top of my roof is about 25'above the...

    Mini-PTZ Give-Away Qontest

Thank you @Q ! It's funny, I actually entered this giveaway with the thoughts of "giving back" as it were. I joined this great forum in May of 2017 and knew nothing what so ever, I still have MANY miles to go, I know enough now to be dangerous LOL. I've reached out in the past for assistance...

Request Ideas for cameras for BI?

Gotta agree, read read read. When you’re sick of reading it, read it again and that goes for the entire Wiki and camera reviews and especially many great reviews by @looney2ns. Most folks don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan.
