I did pick user defined as you did when installing the camera, i have deleted it a few times and reentered it. I have the latest surveillance station 4/11/2020 8.2.7-6222 but my version of DSM is a little behind 6.2.1-23824 because I am running an xpenology faked DS918+. I have to be careful... -

The reason it was done this way was in hopes of using the motion alarm for recording. Otherwise you can only use it as continuous recording. Can you record by motion somehow? When its a RTSP stream no options are available. -

Are you having issues adding rhe camera to synology? I was able to add the camera to my synology as a onvif but another guy made a custom template to add it. Either appears to work fine. Let me know what issue you are having? -
