Have you noticed any consequence of doing so? My CPU fan started screaming while playing back on UI3 and it didn't seem to be quite as fluid. I might just be imagining things, so I'll stick with it through a few restarts. -

Yea, that's a pretty significant handicap. In fact, that Honda may well have had an inch of dust covering the plate, and no level of tweaking (short of a pressure washer) will reveal the tag. So brightness and contrast on the camera GUI directly, correct? I just don't want to cause issues... -

Playback/Web/Mobile always stuttering, but export is fine
Just another "me too" chime in. Though, FWIW, using the direct-to-wire option enabled (vs inherit) on one of the UI3 quality profiles causes it to stream live smooth as butter. Still trying to figure out if there is a way to do the same on playback, but I think that isn't possible...- erkme73

Sorry for late reply. I am using "when triggered" only, and BVR with direct-to-disc. Same settings on all cameras - identical to my own system. -

Possible to pull camera stream from another BI server installation?
Ok, I haven't explored @TonyR's suggestion yet. FWIW, my URL/syntax is RTSP:/IP_address_of_remote_server:port/short_camera_name and that works great. The UN/PW were parsed out of the original URL containing UN:pW@IP. However, once I add any of the decoding/audio parms to the end, it fails... -

Thanks, that looks promising. I've tried using this in a circular setting (new camera aiming at my server, pointing to a h264 D2D camera). I'm sure I've got something misconfigured, but I get a no-signal, RTSP: error 503 service unavailable. Any other ideas? -

Yeah, those workarounds may work, but are far from easily deployed across several installations. Although, both ends are running at 1GB ISP speeds.
