    I've noticed that PIR sensors don't work well when the area is bathed in the IR light from cameras. I'm testing a microwave motion sensor at the motion, which seems to work pretty well.

    Ours has it's own built in sensors that won't allow it to close if there's something in the way. If the sensors somehow don't catch something in the way, the moment the door feels resistance, it goes back up.

    The only other one I've used is Home Assistant. I use both Openhab and HA at the same time. I only use HA for the integrated Google TTS which can be used to announce things on my Google Home / Chromecast.

    I don't have the phone set up anymore. When I did, and the right password was entered you could press "1" to open or shut the door. I had set it up that way in case we were away and for whatever reason, someone needed in.

    I had 1 camera go out attached to POE. I took it down and powered it up with a power brick and it worked. Whatever I tried with POE didn't work. Try the brick.

    I have a few videos that seem to feature my neighbors. I think this is the first I was able to witness personally, while I was working. IIRC, the police took a while to get here. The thief was long gone.

    All of my cams record to an NVR. I just have it set to record motion. If I could somehow trigger an alarm through the API that'd be great. I haven't figured that out yet.

    Try setting subnet mask to 255.255.0.0. It works on my Frankenstein network.
