Just done a detailed log search on my NVR for the last 3 months for my front door stationed 2542 mini dome camera, it has infact detected faces - on average 1 detection every 14 days! but on the upside there were no false positives... I think its safe to say apart from the issue of the NVR not... -

Tried as DGWASW suggested and tried unticking the A1 box on my 2385's gui - face detection still recognised by the NVR but no events actually catalogued under VCA search... then the camera died, just reboots itself every few minuites now - its going back! benifits of not buying from china sellers. -

Can't see anything wrong with your setup - same as my PTZ DS-2DE4A220IW-DE which works, same as my 2CD2542FWD-IS which don't - its likely a software issue, just got to hope for a firmware update to fix it. -

Motion is blurry on my DS-2CD3345-I
in low light? As above + try a faster shutter speed, also make sure the sharpness isn't ramped up too high (i run mine around 30) as it introduces more image noise which you may be tempted to deal with buy applying more DNR which will call motion blur/smearing. -

EXIR dosn't make much difference when your running then in colour mode at night :P -
Hikvision 4k camera quality is poor
Post some screenshots of the actual recordings. Also try H265, its more efficient - you'll get better image quality at the same bitrates. -

Well thats Hik for you... I'm sure the new NVR 4.0 firmware will be good oneday but yeah just spent 2 days getting 4K HDMI kit from the basement to the loft, not keen on that feature not working properly or any other smart features not working right. -

Do these have a proper mechanical IR-Cut lens or is it IR-cut that’s always on - I have some IR-cut lens camera's that aren’t mechanical so the day picture is very good but the cameras can't make use of separate IR illuminators. -

I'd avoid H264+ and for the time being i'm not going to be bothering with 265+ H264 and H265 for me both work fine with the latter having slow motion playback on some devices as its about twice the workload for a CPU to decode. with Hikvisions '+' encoding i've had playback and time indexing... -

Have you correctly configured your gateway and dns settings - I find when this is not done there can be all sorts of networking issues. -

Let us know in detail how all this works out, i'm a little confused over how the chime circuit works and how the Hik doorbell gets its power - since it only has 2 connection points and the mains door chime is a NO device? -

Camera detection issue - extremely weird
interference won't 'hurt' the camera and keeping your colours the same at both ends will prevent any damage on the power side - a problem could occur if you one day replace a RJ45 plug at one end with wrong wiring at the other (missmatched), you could damage the camera or poe supply (nvr/switch). -
So ... what about DS-2DE2202-DE3/W camera ?
OP not sure about TLS, but note that the camera you've asked about is an indoor model with no real nightvision - fitted a 6 of these for a chain of small shops, they work well and 2x zoom and mic was a nice bonus for the price but they have their limits. -

Yeah the wiring order is just wrong, you're actually splitting the blue & green pairs causing loads of signal loss, interference pickup and possibly inducing crosstalk, you may have just got lucky with the other camera's or the're more tollerant but its still wrong. -

Cat 6a network cable
As above, it'll work but you'll have fun terminating it... Better to use it for the backbone of your home network between switches - the max data rate of your cameras is 100mbps, cat6a is overkill. -

Not working for me, got a 2CD2542FWD-IS 4mp mini-dome updated yesterday to 5.5.0 - disabled third stream and rebooted to get the face detection options but so far not getting anything after leaving it on for a day on max sensitivity and all the other FD options ticked - changed recording...
