Funny isn't it - for a feature Hik has been keen to push and rave on about, nothing but problems and no fix with all the latest firmwares... H265+ on the other hand, little has been said about it and it appears to work great on my Hik NVR and IP Dome. -

Playback on the recorder can also be problemaitc with 264+, give it a go and see how you get on - its not recommended for scenes that change alot - i.e. a road with lots of traffic. -

Sorry, mis-read. Sun shiled will help but you could just be trading sun glare for spider webs that will affect the night vision more (bigger problem imo), can also play with BLC and set up a image setting shedule. -

i8 has twice the IR LED's (4 vs 2) so has more power for more range. Does your installer not have any recommendations for cameras? -

Live and learn I guess, hopefully you bricked it before calling your guy saying it was fixed. I'm actually fine with Hik trying to control their exports and guide things through properly supported channels. You may own the hardware but not the software thats loaded onto that - if things go... -

In addition to the above, you can try bumping up the brightness to 80, drop the contrast to 10, reduce sharpness to 30 (will reduce picture noise), drop the DNR as well as that causes alot of ghosting - I run mine at 30 (you don't need as much when you drop sharpness). Hi Ryan, its hooked up to a NVR 7616NI-I2. I can't get smart tracking itself it trigger recording - I can use VCA like face detection, line crossing, intrusion etc, but if I try using motion detection the camera actually turns off recording when it moves - either by manual PTZ input or its own...- FrankMCN

To be fair it is surprising that there is now way to do something like this. I'd love to be able to set a recorder up that has alarm inputs to send notifications if the internal camera's detect movement while the home alarm system is armed and NOT to send notifications when the system is... -

budget? if you want to load over 50 IPC's onto a NVR you won't have many options - more options if you split between 2 or 4 recorders. -

Hi Slider, that video is mislabelled, the camera their doing their install demo on is DS-2CD4D26FWD (fixed dome/motor lens) not a PTZ. The centre part of the PTZ bubble on the 2DE4A220IE-DE is clear, the sides appear smoke/tint which is where the IR illuminators sit behind. From the ground... -

Its pretty quiet, loudest thing is the IR cut filter snapping across the lens which is the same sound level as any other camera, the actual PTZ functions are quiet. -
