I, too, would like to pick my lottery numbers after the draw. :) :p

I guess that should’ve been obvious based on the fact that it would be insane for one person to win so many prizes… I have not had coffee yet …

I feel like she might be ok with that .. unless it looks like a Google maps car decked out with 20 cameras

I explained to my wife this lottery .. and she said the only way I’m allowed to have more cameras in the house is if I get them for free :)

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

Hrmmm perhaps I chose poorly .. I guess I can live with over triggering and SMD on in a specified area of the coverage

Dahua + Synology Surveillance Station : Missing options

I did, and as I mentioned, they are completely worthless in this regard. If you get Geoffrey on support .. run away . I’ve been down ridiculous red herring excuses about AAC license support for transcoding that has been deprecated that’s completely unrelated.

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

I should also note I’m doing my testing during the day to eliminate as many variables as possible re:night vision issues , so that I can troubleshoot the “easy” case first

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

This is the T180 cam. I’m recording to my synology NAS , surveillance station , which seems to have plenty of bandwidth and ram and CPU headroom to spare while recording 9 cameras. It’s all hardwired ethernet of course for the Dahua. My screens do look similar to these but I’m on...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

So I tried to make life simpler to start with a large single IVS perimeter upto the curb as you recommended .. but on testing it seems the camera isn’t picking up hits walking around the yard simply because it’s failing to blue-box the human (me).. despite being in full outdoor lighting and...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

Yes, the intent there was to not catch people walking on the sidewalk and only catch people going onto the lawn. But, I think what you are saying is that in order to do that, I necessarily have to extend it out on the sidewalk or I will not trigger until people are much deeper into the lawn...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

So this is interesting.. i'm getting the opposite advice from bigredfish that I need to have the lines be more constrained instead of larger/more expansive.. I put them out there on the lawn in such a way as I would imagine people would only start triggering them if they walked onto the lawn...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

My camera will only blue-box me near those IVS lines.. away from it, unless i draw another rule out on the sidewalk, it won't blue box me as a target. If i drew an intrusion rule out there it would though... image settings are self-adaptive and WDR with a setting of 20: It's bizzare to me...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

So I think you're saying do it something like this (with just the porch as an example) ? I did just try this, but the results were pretty bad with it failing to blue-box me for most of my transit of the porch toward and away from the camera.. and really only caught me some of the time going...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

I've seen the examples, and looked at them.. i'm just having trouble "seeing" the effect... and yes.. I feel stupid here. I'm just trying to internalize what you're communicating... but apparently i'm still not quite getting it. I'm not quite sure what's 3D about any of this ... should I be...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

Just to be clear.. you're saying "walking underneath the line" as a way to describe the AI's behavior of not triggering because she was already too far past the line at the point it ID'd her as human, right ? I think we're saying the same thing here.

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

So, this is a point of confusion for me here.. in the first picture it's locked onto both of them as people (blue boxes), and both people are crossing the intrusion line.. why is it not triggering on the woman too ? Is it because too much of her body has already crossed the intrusion line by...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

Ok, i'm still struggling to wrap my head around this.. Maybe these questions will help illuminate the confusion i'm having.. For IVS: Do tripwires / perimeters trigger when any part of the identified human/car crosses the line ? I assume the system works by #1 Identifying a target (no matter...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

Specific concerns: Does IVS have issues when the apparent size of the person can be drastically different within a scene / boundary ? If so, should I create multiple boundaries /tripwires within each of which the person size should not be drastically different ? Should I be using the...

Dahua N3wbie , can’t figure out why IVS events won’t record

So, i've been having some issues setting up IVS... and I can't tell if i'm just misusing it or what. I DO get detection, but it seems like it's very iffy on finding humans and when they cross a tripwire or perimeter ... and generally much worse than SMD is at picking up humans... am I using it...

Dahua + Synology Surveillance Station : Missing options

It looks like the profiles are coded differently in synology's internal configs. Do you happen to have a screenshot where it shows that you can select both VBR AND a bitrate in the IP Cam setup tool ?

Dahua + Synology Surveillance Station : Missing options

I forgot to ask.. are you using the "official" SS profile for your camera? If so.. I'll go dig in the Dahua config file to see what's different about yours.. Also why do you prefer CBR ? VBR generally offers a better filesize balance ?

Dahua + Synology Surveillance Station : Missing options

Yea on my camera it just always sets to 1024 no matter what I do .. there’s no sane mapping at all. What’s a little bit confusing is that I think the quality and bitrate are completely separate parameters as far as the encoder is concerned. I believe quality is something to do with the...

Dahua + Synology Surveillance Station : Missing options

I figured out how to do this.. it's actually quite neat and tidy with NodeRed and looks like this: If anyone is curious the function looks like this: / Parse the response and extract the bitrate value const response = msg.payload; / assuming the response is stored in msg.payload const regex...

    EmpireTech 9th Anniversary (Summer)Sales

    I suggest the following function for selection :) function pickLottoNumbers() { let numbers = []; for (let i = 0; i < 32; i++) { / Generate a random number between 1 and 600 let random = Math.floor(Math.random() * 600) + 1; if (random === 442 || random === 443) {...

Dahua + Synology Surveillance Station : Missing options

I'm thinking about using NodeRed in a docker container, so then I can query the camera, find out if it's on the wrong bitrate and change it if and only if it's on the wrong setting.. thereby not disrupting the stream. But now i have to learn how to use nodered ... :)
