Which CCTV systems will interchange with a Dahua system?

Yes, BI does what the nvr did. Rufus Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way makes updating to w11 easy. No tpm, no microsoft account. Download Rufus and the iso, then disconnect from the internet while you update. Takes about 10 minutes.

Which CCTV systems will interchange with a Dahua system?

Fanless is also a plus when it comes to switches, especially if it’s going to be in occupied space. Larger, “server” switches, especially if they output poe, are often made to live in server rooms, and the fans scream. Smaller “edge” switches are made to live in offices where they can’t make a...

Which CCTV systems will interchange with a Dahua system?

This stuff is all cheap. Buy used poe+ network switches on ebay or local ads made by good companies rather than new off-brand stuff. Businesses and governments upgrade all the time to bigger, faster switches with features you don’t need. An eight or ten port switch with gigabit upload...

Which CCTV systems will interchange with a Dahua system?

Generally speaking, a dual network interface card (NIC) for the computer and a power over ethernet (POE) network switch should be your nexy purchases. The dual NIC lets you keep the cameras on their own subnet so they can’t see the internet and get hacked or phone home. The POE switch powers...

    Another Coyote Fox confusion.

Here in Los Angeles that’d be a coyote. Especially if there were a bunch of illegals (new voters, we call them) in the trunk of his car.

Which CCTV systems will interchange with a Dahua system?

The system itself doesn’t need an internet connection, so the low speed will only constrain your ability to receive notifications. If you use a service like Pushover, there isn’t a lot of data flowing, and you’ll at least be able to get a snapshot of what’s happening.

Howdy....new here and hoping to learn about my Lorex System

When you need cameras fast and you don’t know much about them, a Lorex package gets you up and running quick. You can do better when you spend some time learning, but sometimes you don’t have the luxury of time, so no shame for buying the Lorex.

Which CCTV systems will interchange with a Dahua system?

QuattroZ, you are on your way. Get your existing system working, then come back and read posts here for a few months. Then when you think you know a bit, buy a good camera, a computer to run blue iris, and a poe network switch, and start experimenting while you keep your existing system...

Make America Healthy Again (It's Time For Change)

And bring Snowden back for NSA chief. I think the FBI can’t be saved. It has to be dismantled and replaced by smaller, more defined units.

Amcrest ip5m-1190EW: PTZ, 2 way talk audio not working

Check whether the camera’s clock is being set by a time server. I found that if my camera clock and BI computer’s clock were not in agreement, I got a 00002edf error. Setting both devices to ntf time server solved the issue.

    New To Forum-voltage drop question

Yes, just takes a second, and it’s possible that even a new cable has a pair of crossed wires, or a loose wire strand backfeeding in a power connector. I bought a cheap ethernet cable tester and it has saved me a lot of time.

How to run cat 5e outdoor rated cable along a fence?

I ran direct burial-rated cat6 and landscape power cable under a flower bed and through a fence that had boards on each side, so the wire was only exposed where it came out of the ground. I covered that part in conduit, drilled a hole through the stringer, then laid the cables on top of the...

Audio doesn't work on BI Android App

It was just a possibility. Sorry it didn’t help. There are some other audio settings. Poke a few buttons, and if something works be sure to post the answer.

    New To Forum-voltage drop question

Don’t forget to check your connections. I have had several cameras on long runs go wonky because the rj45 contacts got corroded or just dirty. It manifested like yours with gradual signal degradation, before finally failing altogether. The solution was simply to replace the rj45 terminals...

    POE Switch Question

I’m specifically referring to the Alcatel Lucent OS6450s I got from the county. Some of the Ciscos they were shedding did similar L3 functions. I’m still trying to figure out what they can and can’t do. I could actually buy fancier stuff from them for next to nothing, but the those machines...

FYI: FBI disrupts Chinese cyber operation

    Smart Electrical Panels, Yes?

    POE Switch Question

Nothing too fancy, at least until I learn more, but to start, I want to pass time server info to devices that otherwise don’t get to see the web and letting a video stream and doorbell notifications to go to my phone from a camera that otherwise doesn’t get to leave its subnet. I like that...

    POE Switch Question

I started by using the switch to connect the cameras with my dual-NIC Blue Iris computer. That worked fine to give the cameras their own network away from the internet. Now I’m venturing into more sub nets for wireless light switches, a second camera network and an alarm system. So I need...

    Camera App. question

Yes, some cameras vary in the formula, so the poster could try some variations. A few years ago, I saw a document with the formulas different cameras use. Someone who’s interested could search for it in the discussions and probably find it quickly.

    POE Switch Question

Not sure about Ciscos, but the Alcatels have a good GUi, though you have to do some digging in the CLI to enable it. I’m not very smart about this stuff, but I found a bunch of good vids on YT to walk through configuration and just did what I was told.

    POE Switch Question

+1 on using older switches that have become obsolete for business or government. I have some Alcatel Lucent OS6450s that the county shed for $5 to $10 each. Gigabit ports with 10G uplinks, POE+, stackable so you can add them together and they function as a single switch. These are overkill...

    blue Iris OS

A lot of the Small Form Factor computers that people like for bare metal BI installs have built-in windows keys that self-authenticate when windows sets up. I wonder if you could load Proxmox as the OS and transfer the computer’s built-in windows key to the VM?
