Need help with Dahua security camera

Is it an IP camera? If so, you can just plug it into your router and get into it directly.

Need help with Dahua security camera

Try accessing the camera's internal settings. Most Dahuas have a default address of 192.168.1.108. If you don't know how to find the camera, let us know and we'll walk you through the process of finding the camera on your network and accessing it. Once you're into its interface, you'll find...

Lessons learned setting Up IVS (June 2023)

I've been slowly building my security system. I started by sorting out the camera coverage, and recently, I have been getting Blue Iris going, mostly to my satisfaction. Initially, I set up motion detection with zone crossings in Blue Iris, and it worked well during the day, but at night, the...

    Osiring NVR "forgetting" camera password

Maybe check the camera specs and be sure they weren't made for a lower voltage POE. I don't know how long 48v has been the standard. I suspect it came from phantom power for audio devices, which has been 48v for decades, but if you can check that's the prudent thing.

    Osiring NVR "forgetting" camera password

Sure, switch the cameras around. My guess is the older cams need less power than the new ones, so they'll perform ok on the ports the new ones had trouble on. But it could also be you have a weak poe bus feeding the ports your new cameras were using, while the old cameras were on a stronger...

    Osiring NVR "forgetting" camera password

The POE out of the nvr/poe switch is around 48v. The cameras have circuitry to downconvert to their internal voltage, probably 3.3v, which they also do with the 12v from an adapter. They use a higher voltage in anticipation of voltage drop over long cable runs. Higher voltage also means less...

POE Trigger/Switch for Mailbox Cameras on BI?

You can also use a regular metal cutting disk to make some slices in the wood that you can knock out with a hammer/chisel to quickly rough the shape. It's not a pretty way to do woodworking -- lots of smoke, etc., but your fingers won't be in any danger, and it gets the job done.

    Osiring NVR "forgetting" camera password

Hi kingnero, I wanted you to connect to the switch to eliminate a possible source of error in tracing the problem, not as a permanent arrangement. I think your problem is in the poe system. It sounds like you don't have enough power coming to the cameras on a continuous basis. This might be...

POE Trigger/Switch for Mailbox Cameras on BI?

You'll be surprised how controllable a flap disk is. You're working with a scrap 2x4 anyway, so you won't ruin anything.

POE Trigger/Switch for Mailbox Cameras on BI?

Angle grinder with a 40 or 60 grit flap disk has a surprisingly fine control for free form woodworking.

    Vampires don't.

Thermal cam to avoid light triggers?

I'll give it a try. I'll have to think up another reason why I need a thermal camera.

Thermal cam to avoid light triggers?

Yes, I'm using motion zones with triggers on crossing from zone a to zone b. I was assuming IVS would have the same trouble. Cameras are Dahua 4k color, IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 boobie cam and VTO2202f-p door unit, all managed by Blue Iris.

    PoE wattage?

I have an older 3com OfficeConnect poe switch that maxes 30 watts per cable. 3Com sold to HP, but they're still called OfficeConnect. I also have a newer Trendnet TPE 1020ws, with similar specs. The 3Com has better firmware. You can see the IP addresses of all the connected devices and tell...

Thermal cam to avoid light triggers?

I'm thinking about getting a thermal camera. My house has a short driveway, so at night, light from passing headlights is read as motion. At certain times of day, the shadows of people walking on the sidewalk fall into my zones and set off triggers. I could adjust the zones in my schedule...

Is Dell mostly recommended for dedicated BI?

By the bye, there are a lot of vids out there showing how to add W11 to older computers not on the "approved" list by editing the registry. Microsoft is widely expected to make this an "official" thing at some point so as not to leave its large corporate and govt clients stranded.

Is Dell mostly recommended for dedicated BI?

I bought a pair of hp elitedesk 800 gen 2 i5-6500s from a country auction for $25. I was going to use them to host monitors, with BI on a computer I used to use for video editing. I put a BI trial on one of the county boxes, and it ran really well. Nine cameras, mostly 4 mp, one 8 mp. No AI...

Single camera overhead view for small business

IPC-HUM8441-E1-L1/L4 This is made to be a ceiling cam, I think. There's a model with two lens units, I believe. Decent camera, standard Dahua interface. No illumination built in.

New guy from north Georgia mountains

You might look into LoRa radio circuits. Full disclosure: I have no experience with these, but if I had a big property and I wanted an early warning for perimeter intrusion, this might be a practical way. I don't think you could get video, but you could hope for an alarm signal, so you know...
