    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

I am zoomed out a "bit" due to there being a T intersection. So driving towards me, if they turn down that intersection, I need to have more "left" and "top" and 'right" to see it.... I think with these settings this is what I got last night to just show a few......so i THINK we are...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

So I “think” I had 1/160 and I could barely see the lights but no plate showed up. I could be wrong. (Also it could have been that one car that doesn’t have front plates too!! Lol) So I’ve set it for 1/1000. I will be driving home around 920pm. So plenty dark. When I get home I will use my...

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

i believe at 1/1000 i couldnt even see the “stationary” LP which is why i never used it. as you can see the stationary plate is about the same distance i need to see for the LP moving. i have adjusted to shutter 1/1000 and brought up iris to 40 to bring in a little more light. sucks that i...

    4K Resolution 15fps vs 1080p 30FPS

Example One: "Be sure to select 1080p" Review-Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231R-ZE 800 meter capable ePOE When I was looking for other cameras I had seen this same phrase. (I am looking for those other examples now) I did not THINK setting a lower resolution made the camera perform better, I was...

    4K Resolution 15fps vs 1080p 30FPS

thank you, while I do think the new (or even older) starlights could be better in low light over my current 4K cameras, I am not looking at upgrading my current cameras. I was just curious as to why a lot of the reviews mentioned "make sure to set 1080p". My assumption was these were higher...

    4K Resolution 15fps vs 1080p 30FPS

so 1080p at night is better than 4k at night? I wasn't trying to say a "starlight 2mp" was worse than my current 4K bullet cameras. What I wanted to know was, 1080p with my current cameras versus 4k with my current cameras.

    New 3MP Wifi Video Doorbell!

Even with an AP within 6 feet of the DB1 would still get 1-2 + drops a day, signal strength would even show 80+% signal quality. Hopefully this is improved.

    4K Resolution 15fps vs 1080p 30FPS

I have noticed a LOT of people (especially in reviews) turn their cameras to 1080p (which is why the 2mp starlights are recommended). My question is, isn't having HIGHER resolution better over "smoother" playback? Do people use 1080p due to their hardware/storage limitations? What is the...

Can you do some license plate testing at night? with either Ir or forced color? In comparison to the PTZ starlights, need to see how night time an day time license plate captures work (looking for about 100 feet or less.....

Looking for outdoor PTZ that's not a massive big brother camera for my house

To touch on this, if there are multiple fixed cameras (3-4) covering a good area, but one would want a PTZ camera, essentially for license plate coverage (which of course end up being in a "set" position") Would it then be better to get a camera that can "zooom" to that area, and stay focused...

Multi Issues - Signal Loss, Long Live View, No PIcture in IOS, Triggers failing

Thanks. Was able to get triggers to work on and off, removed limit decoding, set codec to NONE, and both have basically been non existent so far. (fingers crossed) (has thus also fixed all the issues so far

Multi Issues - Signal Loss, Long Live View, No PIcture in IOS, Triggers failing

Set Codec to : None in every camera. Why Uncheck "also BVR"? if I do not have "limit decoding" checked, CPU usage spikes to about 50%+ granted its a VM so itll be okay, I just thought its best to keep it lower? Also any idea on this trigger thing with zones?

Multi Issues - Signal Loss, Long Live View, No PIcture in IOS, Triggers failing

CPU hovers around 24%. Memory Usage was about 2-4GBs of the 16GB on the main cpu, Now I am back to the VM, its 18-19% CPU, and 3.66GBs of the 32GBs I gave it. Hardware accelerated decode: None (Main System Config) ON each camera Hardware accelerated decode is set to : intel

Multi Issues - Signal Loss, Long Live View, No PIcture in IOS, Triggers failing

Decided to rewrite this whole thing because of the multiple issues. Background I have been running BI with 4 Cameras 3 Hardwired and 1 Wifi, for the better half of a year or longer, with minimal to no issues (that I could tell). I had migrated my setup from my main desktop, to a Virtual Machine...
