    Automatic SCENE change

OK I've surprised myself and managed to get this working. To switch scenes it's http://IP_Address:http_port/ISAPI/Image/channels/1/mountingScenario In my case the camera is connected to the PoE port of an NVR and with virtual host activated I can specify 65006 for cam 6 I've set up 'Normal'...

    Automatic SCENE change

I'm looking to do something similar. I need a command to switch the camera to Night and another command to switch the camera to Day. The Auto Day/Night setting means the Gain setting is forced to 100 and not adjustable and being able to set this up would get around that. It looks as though it...

What is the meaning of decoding capabilities.

Decoding just applies to what you can playback simultaneously on the monitor that's connected directly to the NVR. If you exceed that during playback one or more camera panes will display 'no resource' It can record up to 16 cameras and up to 160Mbps incoming bandwidth. As long as you don't...

HikVision Intercom wiring with a gate opener

It doesn't look as though you can link the indoor station relay to the lock release function directly so you'd need to connect it to the outdoor unit.

What do you think about having cameras INSIDE your home?

I'm looking to add a couple of cameras internally but will only want them for when there's no one in (primarily for when we're on holiday). My intention is to add a couple of additional smart plugs to my home automation and power the cameras from those. Automation will turn on those outlets...

Push notifications from IP camera's IO by any means possible?

The Hik Connect app works fine with IO alarms - I'm using it myself. Unfortunately (unlike iVMS) with the Hik Connect app, to receive the notifications you are forced to use the Hik Connect method of connection as push notifications are not supported if you connect via IP address/domain name...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

Yeah I said the ColorVu turret with AcuSense was only available in 2 or 4. That's an AcuSense (not ColorVu)

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

I already tried it. It doesn’t fix the motion box issue. I set mine up again and it reverted to a rectangle at reboot. Hikvision are aware of the issue as one of their engineers used Team Viewer to look at my system to try and resolve it and gave up. I only installed it on one camera and have...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

You shouldn't have to live with that! As you're finding out Hikvision cameras do have a lot of quirks

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

Yes you can use 2 way audio through the Hik Connect phone app. When the push notification appears on Hik Connect - Click live view > start 2 way audio icon (then click IP camera as the source). I have one next to the front door with a line crossing alert set up there.

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

Could this more be an issue with the laptop decoding it the stream then. I occasionally get green colour blocks and partial frames when viewing via an app and assume it's down to the mobile device rather than the camera. I'd be inclined to live view or view recording via the NVR monitor output...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

12288 is the recommended but that would be at medium quality and they recommend adding 20 - 30 pc for complex scenes. I've a tendency to set mine at higher quality and add about 40 pc to the what's recommended on the document. I have seen that tearing but only with H265+. Do you have any...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

What FPS are you running it at as 8192 seems low for H264? I have mine at 8192 on H265 at 20 FPS

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

One of mine was playing up a bit when I first got it. The speaker was garbled and illegible. There was no obvious reason for it. I logged in to the camera changed the audio I from mic to line in, saved it, then reversed back to how it should be and saved it again. After that it sorted itself...

Acusense DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (Turret Camera) - Initial Impressions

There have been a couple of firmware updates since 5.5.131 so it would be worth updating it but NOT using what I previously linked to as that was NVR firmware. The latest camera firmware for the G3 platform (cameras ending G2) is 5.5.150. The firmware I referenced that dealt with an audio...

NVR decoding capability and live view

Theres a figure for incoming and outgoing bandwidth. It's 80 Mbps on the 8 channel and 160 Mbps on the 16 channel. The reason theres more than one figure is that the data sheet covers both the 8 and the 16 channel variants. The 8 channel will take 8 cameras OR 80 Mbps max so its possible to...

    Acusense 2.0 and ColorVu 2.0

Is that with just your own external lights on the house and the supplemental LED disabled? There's no glare off your face when you pause and face the camera.

    Acusense 2.0 and ColorVu 2.0

The gain is usually only configurable if the camera is set to Day or Night. If Day/Night is set to Auto it's disabled - at least that's how it is in other models.

New Hikvision setup - New Bee challenges - please help

It's Friday mate - but one day's the same as the next during this pandemic! It's probably because you are using Cloud P2P which doesn't support remote configuration. Hik connect DDNS (which you're using WITH P2P) does support remote configuration but only if you port forward and and enter the...

New Hikvision setup - New Bee challenges - please help

P2P is slower and as I’ve said unnecessary for monitoring using a computer on your home network. Camera names. In device management nested under the folder for your site you’ll see “Encoding Channel”. Right click that heading and click “Update Camera Name” - that’ll import the names into the app

New Hikvision setup - New Bee challenges - please help

If it’s registered with Hik Connect and showing online in platform access you don’t touch that DDNS page - that’s for if you’re using your own (which won’t support the phone notifications) If you just log in to your Hik connect account in iVMS you can get it online, it will be cloud p2p if you...

New Hikvision setup - New Bee challenges - please help

You won't get the full GUI 4 on your K series NVR. On the UK portal you can get the latest version of K series firmware which is 3.4.112 or there is a version 4 but it's not the same and plenty of people have complained regarding issues with it. All firmware for your cameras and NVR is...

New Hikvision setup - New Bee challenges - please help

1 - Login. That login is just to open the software so there's no need to register. You usually get asked to set a password the first time you open it. I can't remember if there's a default password. NVR GUI 4 is firmware for the NVR as opposed to monitoring software, so is not a replacement...

Edit: I'm completely wrong (it had to happen eventually!). Just had the mailshot from Hikvision now regarding the 4K ColorVu Bullet which also has AcuSense. Shame they don't do it in a turret...

    Acusense 2.0 and ColorVu 2.0

No there’s no 4K ColorVu in the IP models. They’re the new gen 2 ColorVu models that include the AcuSense functionality as well, so you no longer have to choose one technology or the other.

IP Cameras on 16CH Hikvision DVR

Ok. It’s probably a Hik Connect issue. Try disabling/enabling Hik Connect on the DVR and sign out/sign back in on the app. You can prove the cameras are visible in the app by adding the DVR again using the IP/Domain method and using the local IP address. Mine uses the litedev address.

IP Cameras on 16CH Hikvision DVR

No there’s no setting as such to make it visible in the app. The only thing that springs to mind is the user permissions - to be visible in iVMS, the user has to have the Remote View option ticked for that camera. However that would only apply if you weren’t logged in as admin. The other...

IP Cameras on 16CH Hikvision DVR

I think you've got your specs wrong. the HQHI is a 2 megapixel HDTVI DVR. For your 2 megapixel model the HQHI-K2 - 2 x 4 megapixel IP camera or 8 when you enable enhanced IP mode. Whereas the 5 megapixel HUHI-K2 model - can take 8 x 6 megapixel IP camera or 16 when you enable enhanced IP...
