Blue Iris: Fisheye dewarping / panoramic / PTZ ?

6 months or so ago I asked the BI developer if this could be a possible future feature, and he replied that it may possibly be, at some stage. Which is just a long winded way of repeating fenderman's answer... :)

    Foscam Calling Home

Great stuff, thanks nayr. I have a few IoT devices (such as a Ninja Block, and others waiting to be played with...), so I'll look into doing as you suggest. I like the idea of 'physically' separating my work machines from the non-work devices.

    Foscam Calling Home

I have a box running Untange firewall between my modem/router and the main switch. Out of interest I just added firewall rules to block and flag any attempts by the one no-name cam I have on my network trying to connect to anything outside the LAN. This is a cam that when I set it up, I went...

Mini PTZ 2nd Gen: 2016 PTZ Camera of the year!

Some NVRs have PoE (power over ethernet), and others don't. So you'd just need to make sure what you buy does (assuming of course the camera you ordered is the PoE model).

.6 seems to have fixed the issues I had.

4.3.0.5 update anyone try it yet?

I just noticed a few cams' motion triggers weren't working after upgrading to .5, rather than mess around with camera settings I rolled back to .4 and all is well now. Will see if the next update fixes the issues.

Yes, you're correct @technet. When I asked Ken about this recently has said that there's plenty more to come as he continues to expand on motion and alerts.

Strange! Received Mini PTZ bullet camera without audio or alarm cables

Same happened to me with the first one I ordered. Monica did me a deal on a 2nd order, which suited me as I was going to get another anyway, and had a use for the non-audio/alarm one. Hopefully she'll look after you.

Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

It would look better if it wasn't visible wouldn't it, so worth a try. I have put silastic all around the openings on the base (top) to seal it a bit (already saved one cam from an unintentinaol drowning), and I coud remove it pretty easily, but I think for now I'll try the foam on the outside.

Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

I wasn't sure, so I covered the sensor and it switched into night mode, then tapped/scratched around the sensor a bit and hardly any noise got through, scratched around the mic hole and it was loud. When you said you'd put some foam in the mic hole I thought geez, that must be some tiny bit of...

Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

You made me double check given your bit of foam seemed to work :) the mic is the little pin hole in the white surround on the right hand side of your pic, it's the ambient light sensor under the lens.

Welcome to the forums davem. You can achieve what you've described above by deselecting the 'H' Motion Zone under the Alerts tab. Recording will still be triggered by movement in the hotspot, but the alert won't be. According to Ken (the BI developer) more motion options are still to come...

Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

I agree re WDR, tried it and didn't like it, day or night. Gamma is a bit of an mystery for me with thes cams. I don't understand what it's supposed to do. Each setting on the slider seems to have no relationship with the prvious/next. But I found that by setting it to 2, I got a much better...

Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

You have the same issue with yours that I do with one of mine, the IR reflection from the surface it's mounted on. It really washes out the distant views. I improved mine a lot with the help of some matt black paint, but in my case it's on a part of the eaves that no one sees. Not a practical...

I just updated from 4.2.9.3 to 4.3.0.3 and all of the zones are correct. What used to be grey is now unmarked, and what used to be unmarked is now green.

    New Dahua PTZ

Sounds good nayr! I haven't had mine working that hard, but did have one move to a preset when motion was detected on another cam (using BI) for a while and it never strayed from the preset positions. I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

    New Dahua PTZ

If you're referring to the model below, I have one and it does have night vision/IR cut filter, and is very good in low light and with IR. The same Ali seller (Glory Triumph) has these too, if you've just placed the order Jim will probably be happy to arrange to change it for you...

Mini PTZ 2nd Gen: 2016 PTZ Camera of the year!

I've had that a couple of times with these cameras, and each time it was fixed by replacing older, cheaper cat5e with better solid copper cable, and making sure they had their full power requirement from the switch/injector.

Mini PTZ camera impressions! 2015 PTZ camera of the year? AVOID THIS CAMERA

When these first came out I asked Monica if there was such a bracket, or any plans for one, and she said there wasn't. I wonder if enough people request such a thing that they might just make it happen. Especially if they think making some sales would depend on it being available.

    Flashback from 2012

I have a similar graveyard of oldies lying around here, some of which cost a small fortune in the day (PTZs). The oldest I still have in use are some Compro cube cams I now use as IP microphones since BI introduced the ability to use the audio from different cams. They've been given a new lease...

What a difference a cpu makes!

Good stuff, thanks. Not only can a new CP make a huge difference, but as you say just using the hardware video acceleration has transformed BI for me. My system has gone from maxed out CPU with the current settings to around 50% now. It's like getting a new PC for free!

SD29204S-GN Mini PTZ. Any reviews, feedback?

Maybe being inside it would be better than where I have them, but yeah, the mic is probably the weakest point in an otherwise impressive cam.

SD29204S-GN Mini PTZ. Any reviews, feedback?

I'm afraid I don't have any sample vids (family/neighbours might not approve...), and can't comment on compatability with Hik NVR, but I do now have 2 of these and I am struggling to think of anything to say against them. The image quality is easily a match for the 10x Huisuns and the Hiks I...
