    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

4.2.8.3 the extra 8 pixels are gone. :) Edit: I'm seeing a further improvement in CPU usage too.

Mini PTZ 2nd Gen: 2016 PTZ Camera of the year!

I asked Monica about this recently. She said it is a 1.3MP PT only, with a fixed 6mm lens.

    Mini PTZ: Reported Issues/Limitations

I had the exact same issue with a Huisin using old CCA cable. I replaced it with solid copper cat6 and everything works correctly now.

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

4.2.8.2 works for me with graphics card disabled and using onboard graphics. Very cool too, low 70% CPU usage with no limit live preview rate, massive improvement! I have the extra 8 pixel depth on all 1920x1080 cameras (and lost motion masks accordingly), but no doubt that will be taken care...

PTZ presets and motion masks question

I'm wondering if I'm missing something with the way I'm using motion masks with PTZ presets. The scenario: I have different motion masks for different profiles. I use preset 1 is as the "home" position for each cam. The mask for this position will be different depending on the current profile...

    Uberoverlord/uberasshole

This will certainly cut down on a lot of pointless noise in the forum. I've been down the mod/admin/dev road on a number of forums over the years (still am) so I know how time consuming and annoying these members are (there's always at least one; it's as if there's a "forum member moron...

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

I just repeated the process of swapping to the onboard graphics. This time I thought I'd hit the jackpot. CPU usage went down to low 50% range when I activated Hardware accel and restarted. Then I discovered that all of my motion masks and setting had dissapeared. So I imported my latest...

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

Yes, I'm using DTD continuous recording, did restart BI, and try restarting the PC. I didn't remove the Nvidia card, but I disabled it in BIOS, enabled onboard graphics, and plugged the HDMI cable into the motherboard socket rather than the graphics card. 16 cams: 11 @ 1080, 3 @ 720, 2 @...

    4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

Great to see these changes working! I'd love to be able to get the benefit as my CPU usage hovers around the low 80% region, but I have Nvidia graphics. I did try changing from the video card to onboard (CPU is i7-4790), but usage sits at high 90% range with hardware accel on or off. Fingers...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Thanks riceandbeans. I wasn't very clear in my comment, I was referring to water getting into the bracket and from there into wall or wherever the cable was run, rather than into the camera.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

As fendrman says, it's about the width of the FOV. I don't really want or need to see all of that sky, so many of the 5M pixels are being wasted on an area I don't need to see. If it were a 5MP sensor with a native 16:9 FOV all of the 5M pixels would be covering the area I want to see, and...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I haven't had it running since taking those shots, so no I haven't made any progress there. The test spot is being used by another cam at the moment... I'm pretty sure it wasn't rebooting, just dropping out for some reason. I'm still not sure that it isn't a BI config issue. I expected to see...

Ptz move to preset when triggered by another camera ?

Handy info, thanks all. Is there a way to have the PTZ return to it's "home" position after a set time? "Resume cycle/shedule after inacticity" under the PTZ tab doesn't seem to work for a static position.

Huisun's handling cold snowy weather and low temps so far

Well, from Downunder (Australia) I can report that so far they're handling the summer OK. I have 2 out in the heat, and another one in a really hot spot in a garage. One of them is in direct sun all day, and hasn't had any problems, including yesterday when we reached the low 40s (C) in the...

EYEsurv ESIP-PTZmicro-1080p 2MP Weatherproof Mini PTZ with 4x Optical Zoom

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

OK, some night shots. I ended up with only 2 comparisons, because I reckon it pretty much says it all. The 2 cams are the Longse bullet (obviously...) set at 2592x1944, and the same Hik 3mp, 6mm turret as per the day shots at 1920x1080. The IR illuminator is a 28W 90° 850NM version of this...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

2560x2048, that sounds more like it. Question re varifocal: I've always found manually focused lenses will either be properly in focus in low light *or* daylight, but never both. And setting PTZs to fully manual focus creates the same problem. Thoughts, experiences?
