Mini PTZ camera impressions! 2015 PTZ camera of the year? AVOID THIS CAMERA

Yes, I tried everything. Similar settings to the 2mp 10x with their great pic too.

Re: 5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90 Weirdness for sure! Hopefully it will sort itself out before the new year... - - - Updated - - - BI to the rescue! Have just set an "area of interest" for the camera and now have my 16:9 image.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Re: 5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90 I went with the 5mm. They did offer the 3.6mm though. Good comms, POE cost $8 extra, reasonable time to ship, well packaged. Edit that: POE usually cost $8 extra, they included it without the $8.

It is from the new cam yes. And it does look good. That's with the extra IR light. Will post some more to the other thread tonight.

How about daytime though klasipca? You may not have the same issue, but if I turn WDR off I have dark areas in the images I posted. There's bright, sunlit areas, then spots such as the far left corner of the house where the trees are which is in complete darkness.

If you've got plenty of white light available, it certainly looks good!

Re: 5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90 Sorry Q, I have no idea why they're not clickable for you. I just uploaded them using the normal image upload function, and they work for me. Anyone ales having same problem? - - - Updated - - - From here Q...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Actually, with WDR set to medium in the Longse, in parts of the picture I notice the grain as much as in the Hik. There's not a great deal of difference. If looking closely, they're both noticeable once a second (the iframe).

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Here are a couple of images from BI. I tried taking screenshts from the Web UI but they're not the correct aspect ratio. These are not perfect by far, but they are equally imperfect, so may give some comparison at least... I think the night shots will be of more interest anyway. BTW, they're...

The bracket is a bit "clunky" though. It consists of a series of joints held in place with a hex head screw and some grub screws. However it does the job despite seeming a bit basic, with everything being nice and solid once the screws are tightened up. To try and give an idea of the range...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Given that @klasipca has provided so much great info on the camera already, for this post I'll focus mainly on bullet specific info. (I'm breaking this post into 2 because I am exceeding the character limit with the images) Firstly, it arrived like so: Packaging was fine and undamaged. In...

The only reason I went with the bullet over the turret is because the bullet is IP66 rated, whereas the turret is supposedly not weather proof.

The resolution of the camera, so in this case 2048x1536, about 2MB. The actual image is much clearer, and for instance there's none of the dark graininess in the sky.

I've looked, but can't find anywhere to set the quality of the snapshots taken from a camera's righ-click menu. As it is, they are pixellated and nowhere near as clear as the original image. Under the Record tab for the cameras I have JPEG quality set to 100%. Is there something else I've...

Mini PTZ camera impressions! 2015 PTZ camera of the year? AVOID THIS CAMERA

Welcome to the forums Dene! I haven't tried any of the fixed lens models, but I do have a 1.3mp 4x version. The image quality is really dissapointing, significantly worse than any other camera I have running in 720p (natively, or set to 720 to save bandwidth). I don't know if the fixed uses the...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I just grabbed some screenshots with BI comparing the cam (it's dark here) with a Hik 3mp turret, but the jpegs are really bad quality. I'll have to sort that out and get some better ones, day and night, in the next day or so. One thing I can confirm at least is that it works fine in BI. I'm...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

True, it's not much lost in horizontal view, but it's a lot gained in vertical view. So in my case I want to watch over the back of a building. I want the available resolution/pixels to cover the width of the building, but with 4:3 a lot of the picture covers sky and ground. So it's wasted...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Thanks. I should have checked that apparently. It never even occurred to me that if 1920x1080 was listed that it wasn't actually 1920x1080. Where I want to use it half the image/pixels will be wasted on sky and ground. Am going to have to rethink this...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

OK, thanks @klasipca. Just having a quick look now. One thing that seems a bit odd, when set to 1920x1080 it just stretches (out of proportion) the same image from the higher resolutions. Is this what you found too?

    Dumb question...

Are you using direct-to-disc recording? It makes a huge difference to CPU usage.

    Mini PTZ: Reported Issues/Limitations

I tried a high powered injector (30W) and it didn't work for me, I had to swap the cable. Who knows though, maybe you'll be able to get enough power through. I had a Huisun PTZ hooked up with only 10 metres of old cat5e CCA and it worked, but only erratically, and it was the only thing on the...

    Mini PTZ: Reported Issues/Limitations

I had a similar situation hunte88 where a camera was unusable with about 40 metres of cat6 CCA cable. I did as fenderman suggests and swapped to solid copper cat6 and now have no problems at all with 2 cameras each with 80 metre runs.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

The image looks quite "pale", like there's lots of WDR or IR reflection. Is that the norm? I really like the clarity of it, very nice. If only that motion blur can be addressed I reckon it could be a real winner. My bullet version is currently having a few days holiday in a DHL warehouse...
