YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Unless anyone else is experiencing only 5fps I think there has to be something wrong with my cam... Anytime the IR or motion is triggered the FPS drops from >15 down to 5fps and stays there until I restart the cam. I've tried every setting imaginable, tried powering it over both the included...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I can't get the SD-M5 to stay at 15fps in Blue Iris. Ive tried too many things to list. It seems as soon as motion is detected, even though motion detection has been disabled using the app, it drops from >15fps to 5fps. Only way to get it back to 15fps is to restart cam. Anyone else run into this?

here is the configuration info I pulled from the SD-M5 using the Yoosee_IPC_TEST_TOOL_DEBUG_UTILITY v.V01.00.00.59 So it sounds like some how there has to be a way into the Linux OS its running & there has to be a way to change these values.. SoundPromptOpt = 1 MicInVolume = 62...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

Just realized with Blue Iris you have to set this cam at 30 fps to actually get 15fps. Other wise it ends up dropping down to 5 fps after a hour or so.

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I ended up buying a USB power outlet and two metal single gang boxes to mount and power the wireless chime & relay. All I did for a case was use a dremel to make a hole in back of the existing chime case for the wires to come out of and electric taped the relay to it. I don't trust it 100%...

    Moving NVR Ports to Front

I was under the impression it was mandatory to have a patch panel with a rack.;) Just make sure to give yourself at least 10ft of extra slack on the network cables. Especially if the rack is mounted high on the wall. Also make sure to label all your cable (I used a label maker) and get some...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

I have successfully hacked the SD-M5 into working with my mechanical chime. I found a connection on the USB chime that received power when the chime was triggered. I originally thought it wasn't getting a consistent 4.98v (5v DC) but it turns out that the signal is so fast my multi-meter was...

YooSee SD-M5 doorbell: 1080p, PoE, RTSP, Onvif, only $66

So here's what I've come up with so far to try and get the Doorbell to work with a 120v mechanical door chime. I've found that the 4 pin button on the doorbell pcb is a always open circuit and I'm about 99% sure when closed it allows 2.2v DC to flow through the top 2 pins to the bottom 2 pins...

Here are some pics of the inside of the chime. According to some research I've done the four pins circled in red should be the output from the RF receiver. The one all the way to the right should be the one that sends the signal to the pcb when the receiver is triggered. But.... Either I'm doing...

Going to need some help on this. Hacking with wire and solder isn't my area of expertise... The button for the doorbell has 4 pins where it connects to the pcb... The top two (which are the bottom two in pic below cuz I'm holding it upside down) have about 2.22 - 2.25 volts +/- going to them...

Know you arent asking me, but I bought the Ubiquity converter too. The reason is because the YooSee POE injector plugs into a 120v wall power outlet then pushes the power down the Ethernet cable. Ubiquity converter takes the power from POE switch and steps it down so no need for a 120v wall...

    VPN camera via local ip

I might not be understanding you correctly so don't jump on me. But I think your issue might be because your trying to connect to your server over LAN, but really you need to be connecting over local loop back since the VPN server is running on the same server your trying to connect to.

How I choose a PoE from the list?

Not that I know of. I'm powering 6x Dahua DH-IPC-HDBW4433R-ZS and 2x Netgear GS108T.V2 Pro Safe 8 Port Gigabit Switches off mine. I think my camera's only use like 6 watts a piece or something. Same with the switches.

How I choose a PoE from the list?

You can get a used Netgear 24-Port JGS524PE for $100 used on eBay. 24-Ports | 12x POE 100w. Rack mountable. It's what I went with, not that that means anything. But I can say it does what I need it to. Only reason I can see wanting to change it out would be to get a 10gbps switch.

    VPN setup questions

Yes; if you install and run Softether you will essentially be running a Softether VPN, a OpenVPN VPN, a L2TP/IPsec VPN, and a Microsoft SSTP VPN all in one so you can use what ever client you'd like. Softether actually has a easy to use server manager GUI you can control remotely (LAN) from a...

If you like the idea of being able to use L2TP, you can use SoftEther VPN server. SoftEther is a Open Source multi-protocol VPN software. It clones OpenVPN, SSTP, and L2TP. It also has its own protocol which uses Ethernet over https aka ssl over tcp port 443. It can cut through any fire wall and...
