    V5.2.5 and 5.2.0 firmware differences

Thank you rhodges That would be it then.. for purposes of the test I reverted to the cam to the '12345' password and set the nvr to be the same. Updated the cam and then put the password back to what I wanted it to be... but now in hind sight, I should of altered it in the nvr before letting...

    V5.2.5 and 5.2.0 firmware differences

Hi Jim I upgraded a couple of my cams from 5.2.0 to 5.2.5 and then put them back to 5.2.0 using tftp There is a 'feature' in 5.2.5 that causes a 20 min lock out when you change things ... I cant remember what it was that caused the feature to activate but twice was enough to give me the raving...

Full access to cameras via Hikvision NVR?

As said above ... there are many ways to skin a cat DHCP should be set by your router and then assign the cameras & nvr with a fixed ip (disable DHCP on cameras / nvr) A seperate PoE switch is not required.

7608 NVR finding only one of 8 cameras

An alternative alternative approach The learning curve can be steep... the more you try to learn at the same time only makes the curve steeper. 1. Put the nvr back in the box 2. Power one of the 2.8mm cams with a 12v psu and connect it to your network 3. Use the 'SADP' tool on your pc and...

Hikvision Firmware Versions Multiple Language or English Only 5.2.0 and 5.2.3

It could be as simple as this ... If a cam is 'stand alone' you get 1 overlay, connecting it to a Hikvision nvr enables overlay 2 / 3 / 4 I say this cos all of the Scottish Clan members are using 76xx 0r 78xx NVR 's

Check list for Camera /NVR installations

Its all in the head :peaceful: Drill, drill bits in a range of lengths up to 1m, plugs, screws, lots of cable, silicone in different colours... and a very large hammer The early days of installations involve a great deal of too'ing and fro'ing for that forgotten special thingy that's needed...

Can't reload hikvision firmware with tftp

Yep Try what Razer says above, and if that fails I suggest contacting member CBX and in exchange for some beer vouchers he may well be able to help you out of the misery :D

Can't reload hikvision firmware with tftp

After the 'Completed file' it can take 5 mins before the 'system update completed' appears ... are you waiting ? But the question arrises as to why you are having to use TFTP .. is the camera bricked ?

    Server/Client Based Software Solutions

Almost everything is a power / CPU hog. But... if you purchase a Hikvision NVR then over a period of time the power savings could almost pay for it

    Hikvision and logcurfile.bin

Or ...... Stick an extra fan in somewhere and get the temperature closer to ambient air temperature ... Sure it may cost you a minute on the UPS, but if your really struggling for UPS time then driving your self crazy to save a watt or three isn't the remedy.

Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I Text Overlay (Problem with Overlays 2, 3, and 4)

AFAIK there are lots of country codes (as in the serial number) All 3 of my DS-2CD2032-I are CCCH (which means they were from China) 2 other Hikvision cams are also CCCH

Just a thought .. I believe that all 3 examples of 4 lines are from cameras that are connected to a Hikvision nvr. Wondering if its not just a Scottish thing after all

That looks good... if 40x40 and hole centres of 32mm are the same as the Hikvision, then its ideal.

    Hikvision DS-7616NI-SE/P Firmware Update

Except of course when ones doing the loop back trick (when Virtual Host is not an available feature) to enable lan access to all the cameras settings that are not available through the nvr. :D

    Hikvision DS-7616NI-SE/P Firmware Update

The address for the cameras gateway is your router address (192.168.0.254) How many cameras do you have and are they all connected to the NVR and assigned ip addresses in 192.168.0.X range, your nvr should also be given an ip in the same range of 192.168.0.X and none of them should have DHCP...

Need advice on a good OUTDOOR NIGHT View Camera

I have a 7804 and a 7608, yes they not silent... (the 76 is bettter than the 78) so depending on where the nvr is going to live, replacing the fan with one that has lesser db is an option that others have done and isn't hard (your mileage may vary, lol) But being lazy, as it only needs lan and...
