    Assistance with Cam Location?

From a post I made in a different thread... A very quick and dirty method of lens calculation for 1/3" CCD Cameras .... (found on the internettywebby and it's worked for me, so no kudos or cabbages expected) 1. What area size do you want to view (sometimes the horizontal size is relevant...

8 Port PoE Injector - Sufficient Option for Existing Network?

The device says a max rating of 60w, this equates to 60/8 = 7.5w per camera (assuming you have 8 cameras that are being powered), so powering all 8 cams if they are using IR leds is going to be ambitious if not a tad adventurous. But for less than 8 cams then it will do the job ok. I believe...

Hikvision turret lens glass cover replacment

Please don't ask why I know this ... But the simple & cheap answer to restore the cams waterproof rating is to get a flat 29.5mm 'mineral glass watch crystal' (ebay can be a good source) add a bead of silicone to give it a seal, gets one out of trouble. The IR glass cover looks to...

Full access to cameras via Hikvision NVR?

If you connect the lan output to your switch / router (your red) .. and one of the camera inputs (your blue) also to your switch / router, then you will only loose one of your poe ports, the good news is that if you have a camera that doesn't require poe then that can also be connected to the...

Going mad please help! - Android IVMS-4500 / Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-IW

Thats a good one :) However... the answer is still nope, lol You will see that the poe injector says 'Auto-detect the required power supply' this is done by the poe camera negotiating with the injector.. so connecting two cams may / should cause a bit of confusion. Was that under load...

Going mad please help! - Android IVMS-4500 / Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-IW

Nope The thing to keep in mind about poe is that due to the fact that cable has resistance.... the voltage drops over the length of the cable, longer the cable then the more the drop. The proper / real method of doing poe is only achieved by sticking to the specifications, this is achieved by...

Mines is as it was in the box v1.16.1 and was sourced from China so ?????? But 1.16 isn't new as it dates back to 2010, the latest version is 1.21 from 2013, so 1.2.1 doesn't seem quite right.. Version:1.2.1 Released: 2006-10-23 ho hum, lol

POE experts a little advice please

For several reasons its fraught with disaster, lol. Safest way is to use the second cat cable purely as a 12v extension cable to power the mic, and kept away from the POE switch.

Telnet Hikvision NVR a simple guide

Hi thestooge VSZ is kinda deeper than intended for this, but its to do with virtual memory size and may give an incorrect answer, depending on which version of busybox that the nvr is runing, An answer from the internettywebby says (and I believe it, lol) The most relevant bits (pun...

Recommend me a 16ch hikvision NVR, i cant work it out myself

From what I've seen... With a non commercial specification nvr .. 12 cams doing what you require will be pushing the limit that a 16ch will comfortably handle (some retailers say "We recommend a maximum of 12 x 3MP cameras with this NVR.") So if you don't want to be pushing your luck with...

Telnet Hikvision NVR a simple guide

Thank you for that information catseyenu :), maybe the later firmware virtual host option switches telnet on... or maybe its just on by default. For our avid readers, The easy way to see if the telnet port is indeed open is to try and telnet to the nvr ip address, if it connects then its open...

Telnet Hikvision NVR a simple guide

Telnet is a very sharp tool, and as with all sharp tools... you can poke your eye out (Ok you can't really poke your eye out, but telling telnet to do bad things may result in a very very bricked nvr thats only use will be as a door stop) So... assuming a windows pc and the nvr is on the same...

    HikVision DS-7608NI-SE/P - Abnormal Shutdown?!

Once you have proved that the hard drive is ok, then just for a laugh ... (indulge me, lol) .. reduce the number of cameras or lower them all to 720p / 1080p and see if the lighter load helps.... If you have a monitor connected to the vga or hdmi output, then you can see the bandwidth your...

    CNR 2432 Network question

Hi Brian... The answer to life the universe and almost everything was given in post #8 #9 11# and maybe others. Inform the IT dept that there are many ways to skin a cat (very poor attempt at a pun intended), but you can run with what's available (until the goal posts are moved).
