    Dedicated NVR or BI?

The problem with NVR’s, as I see it, is you only get what you pay for. If you buy a cheap one, I can assure you, you won’t like it. As they go up in price they get better and better with more functions.

Dahua Technology Pro Series N44BB33-B 4MP Outdoor Network Bullet Camera with Night Vision

Using BLC or WDR should help with the headlights and as they drive away the plate has a license plate light. BTW: The IR says only good to ~about 160'. "IR Distance up to 50m(164t)" So I wouldn't count on that too much. Just a thought!

Tell us about your home automation!

As always the cost has just begun! Same as the cameras. Looking at a thermostat to start with. Then, if that works, I will expand it for security first! Trying to keep cost as low as possible.

What to do with DC Pigtails Outside

What to do with DC Pigtails Outside

You are right!! Todays circuit boards are mostly impervious to water, and that little packet is only good for a very, very, very small amount of moisture. Rice would almost be better.....

What to do with DC Pigtails Outside

I just can't take it any more.... In the old days company's like IQinVision (IQeye) use to recommend putting a desiccant packet on top of the lens of their Sentinel cameras to help (help being the operative word) prevent fogging. Did it work? In some cases YES and others NO! Was it worth the...

    Detection FOV Limit?

Did you set the area of detection in the camera? My DaHua IPC-HFW2300R-Z/VF, by default, only detects an area in the center of the framed picture unless you change it. Just a thought. Set the camera first and then BI.... Good luck!

DS-2CD2132-I 3 axis with micro SD card slot

That is a BIG difference from 2 axis to 3 axis! I know I would never buy a 2 axis camera due to the extra mounting concerns. Thanks @milkisbad for the new information. I am sure that it will help increase the sales of the DS-2CD2132-I!
