dahua vs hikvision, what is better to get?

Exactly! They are not the same and have different Firmware and that is what distinguishes one from the other. DaHua camera firmware works better with DaHua NVR firmware than with Hikvision NVR. But then Hikvision cameras firmware is a better match to Hikvision NVR firmware. This is not to...

    4K has arrived :-)

The good - Awesome picture! The bad - Might need new equipment? The ugly - You can't have too much storage. Petabyte - Exabyte - Zettabyte - or my favorite Yottabyte The storage is dependent on number of 4K Ultra cameras you have!

dahua vs hikvision, what is better to get?

I only have one thing to say about this. It doesn't matter which one you choose they are both good brands but you need to match your system with the same brand NVR as the cameras.

Is it all working? Do I need to install 3.66 first? I don't want to go through the endless loop thing again....

    BI Version 4.0 Issues

Do to an endless loop I uninstalled BI Ver. 3.66. (to include all Reg. & firewall settings) That stopped the looping. At this point I will wait to see if anyone gets Ver. 4.0 to work properly without jumping through hoops. (To old for all of this) Right now I am not quite ready to spend the...

If they are right behind you in line a few seconds is all it takes. It looked so KEWL and already we are talking about doing evil things with them... Sad... But it is something that everyone should be aware of when shopping!

    New Dahua 4K camera - IPC-HF81200E

    It has three streams, 8M @ 1080/30 fps and also 1080P @ 60 fps -- I don't think it is an error http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hf81200e-792.html

    New Dahua 4K camera - IPC-HF81200E

Did anyone notice the bit rate? It says 32K ~ 96Mbps. You would need a gigabit switch to handle them. If you installed 10 of them the gigabit wouldn't be enough. Onward and upward. Also new router? Just a thought...

What's your favorite IP camera and why?

IQinVision has always been a leader in IP cameras. They now have a 12mp/4K sentinel camera and guess what it looks like... The same as my avatar! http://www.iqeye.com/iqinvision-demonstrate-12mp4k-sentinel-isc-west I believe that they were doing a lot of business in Las Vegas. I haven't...

What's your favorite IP camera and why?

My favorite IP cameras are IQ inVision (IQeye)! Any of them... Not because it is the best camera out there but their support is amazing. The ones that I have are old, one 2 megapixel built in 1998, but they still have firmware updates for them. The overwhelming thing is they still work and...

Is A Gigabit Router needed to run 7 Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I at maximum performance?

Re: Is A Gigabit Router needed to run 7 Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I at maximum performance The TP-LINK TL-860 will do just fine if you are wired to it (10/100T). Even if you set all cameras to 6 megabit the total is only 42 Megabit, well within the 100 it can do. Where you might have problems is...

    Dahua 4300S vs Hikvision 2032

For what it is worth attached is a bulletin from Hikvision. Bit rate plays an important role in the quality of the picture. Isn’t that the point of getting megapixel cameras in the first place, to improve the quality and definition in the picture? NOTE: Video quality is NOT the same as...

It says the 4208 8P is new???? http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products_category/2hdd-475.html Dunno! Price looks good though. Works with 5MP too!

    Nvr poe or poe switch

The record rate for the 7216 is 192 Mbps and 128 Mbps for the 5216. Where I see the BIG difference is the Max. User Access. The 5216 is only 20 where the 7216 is 128... That is huge!!
  24. n4gry

    Nvr poe or poe switch

That looks like a great switch! Be aware that the Power supply unit is 66 watts. So though you can use all 8 ports for POE... You will not have 15 watts per port for all eight! Most cameras do not use more than about 7 watts so that is doable but if you add a phone (It has Auto VoIP) or high...

    Lens Comparisons 4mm, 6mm, 12mm

The top of the driveway (that you can see in the pictures) is about 1/8th of a mile from the camera. I don't think IR will work quite that far but that is only one camera (the IQinvision w/50mm lens) that covers the far driveway and I have that for LPR (license plate reader) day time only but...
