He could learn a thing or two if he followed wrestling heroes that lead by example and show us all what it means to be a decent citizen: https://www.instagram.com/p/39D-VBoh2D/
Either that or maybe you could find his bumper a new home right through the windshield of his probably newer van. He...
Yeah, or if nothing comes of the investigation, threaten to share the video with his friends and family (name a few by name, extra points if you figure out he has a job and use his workplace) unless he turns himself in. I would be 100% sure you have a proper ID though, because if you didn't, it...
Good info, thanks nighthawk. I became aware of the RTSP port earlier (above) but was unsure on how it worked remotely without me doing that for like 6 months. I'm using the NVMS app but both seem to work the same.
Problem #2 is fixed now. Problem #1 was just that I didn't have the RSTP port forwarding (still not sure why the NVR worked so well for so long). Then, a few days after I fixed that, Time Warner installed a new modem for them (I wasn't there) and it took me forever to determine the modem was...
Ok, I spoke too soon. Today I couldn't connect again. I could remote into PCs on location, but couldn't remotely connect to the NVR much less get a video stream from it. What in the world is going on to where it's working one minute and the next it's not?
I remoted to on-site PC, was able to...
I fixed this, but I'm still confused on how it broke (or I broke it) in the first place.
I was reading a post from this CCTV forum by user Securame (thank you, Securame). He points out:
"On iVMS-4500 you need to configure the data port (8000 by default). That is the port used to connect to...
Thanks. I used that and confirmed port 8000 is open. The app works and even does playback of recorded videos, just won't stream live video.
I'm now wondering if it's a bandwidth issue as this location only has 12M down and 1.5M up, but still doesn't make sense that it worked fine from install...
I have a hikvision NVR (purchased from LTS, model: LTN8704-P4). Everything has been working great up until a week ago - nothing has changed as far as the network or NVR. I can log onto the config remotely, but remote streaming won't work on the web, client software, or mobile app. I see this...
I have BI record New and Alerts to C. It does a good job emptying the New folder, but sometimes the Alerts folder fills up way past the allotted amount and completely fills up my C drive. BI quits working at that point, can't remote into the PC, so I manually go in (at this time Windows is, of...
Ha!! My wife would probably agree with "daft" - but since she's from the states, she would just ask "what's wrong with you?" LoL. Between me, you, and that fence post over there, probably suspiciously captured on your CCTV camera!, I will admit she is right most of the time. Been married 6...
Hey, relax man. I didn't know you could get special glasses for this but it does make total sense now that you mention it. Does Blue Iris sell them or did they come with fenderman's monitor? Do they require batteries like some 3D glasses do? I would actually prefer glasses with batteries as long...
This looks cool but what's in there, how big is it, and how do you have it hooked up? Does that white rectangle disappear when you tap on the screen or when you walk up to it?
Thanks nayr. I should have specified that it'd be cool to see the install in terms of how it looks in the room it's in vs. just a closeup of a monitor. And what is that NSA microchip dongle gadget you got on the back of that monitor? Does it self destruct? :)
I'm hoping to see the different ways people have installed something to monitor their cams in a household setting, like a tablet, little screen in the kitchen/hall, etc.. I'm looking for ideas and want something non-intrusive, professional/finished look, something you can glance at as you walk...
Did not know about this. My BI setup is now running for months at a time without me having to tinker so I guess I'm not staying up to date with the new stuff. That's awesome. It's in Options > Cameras for anyone else that might have missed it.
I don't know what kind of cameras you have, but are you sure you can't timestamp it from the camera interface itself? Then it's timestamped before it hits Blue Iris. Not a camera expert but I think it'd be pretty weird if you couldn't. If you find you can do that, what fenderman said will...
You could try to power it up with an AC adapter. If POE is fried on the camera, I'm not sure there's much you can do about that. I fried one of my hik's by incorrectly wiring an Ethernet end and the whole camera was toast. I wish there was something Hik could do in the circuitry to protect...
I just checked out the Amazon reviews coming in and they don't look so good. http://www.amazon.com/Roost-900-00001-Battery-Alarms-Single/dp/B00ZWQHVP4/
If you haven't already bought one, maybe wait for the next version if there is one.
I'd recommend not feeding it unless you want to be cleaning up his poo. We have one here that poos on our deck and in the yard. It's nasty and no fun to step in when you're mowing.
That's great info. The black light may be what you guys like, but the hue bloom would offer some cool features: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-259945-Frustration-Personal-Wireless/dp/B00I12YFP0
They make great nightlights and accent lights during the day. Dial in any color (morning - blue/white...
If you're using a HikScrambler, they sell an adapter to mount to the underside of a drone. Fly in with that, do recon, jam all CCTV nodes, see results.
