Hikvision camera resets ITSELF to factory default twice!

In your sample log, most of your hits are one and two, which usually fall below the threshold. As I stated before, given enough hosts and enough time, yes, every port can be probed. If you have 100k bots out there, all it takes is one bot per port. I have a single SSH port open through my...

Hikvision camera resets ITSELF to factory default twice!

IDS software vendors have adapted to this brute-force approach. Now they look for a pattern of repeated port scans to a single hosts (or group of hosts) within a certain time period. Sure, with a large number of bots you could scan through all ports over a long period of time and probably avoid...

    Hikvision IPC Firmware 5.5.0 - released 24 Sept 2017

... and, oddly enough, the script does not work with the 5.5 firmware (but works fine with the 5.4.5 firmware)... the CURL commands return an "empty reply from server" error... so it would appear something has changed with the ISAPI interface in 5.5. I only have one 5.5 camera I toy around...

Hikvision camera resets ITSELF to factory default twice!

To be fair though, Most ISPs (here in the states, at least) have IDS systems which will block mass port scans, so putting your cameras on non standard ports (especially in, say, the high 20,000 range) is not likely to get scanned.

    Hikvision IPC Firmware 5.5.0 - released 24 Sept 2017

I have a 2385 which came with 5.5. There are a few differences. 1. The ability to enable ssh has been removed in 5.5 (security->security service page) 2. There is a "firmware property" attribute added to the system settings -> Basic information page. My camera has B-R-G1-0 in this field...

    Backdoor found in Hikvision cameras

Fenderman can come across like a jerk, sure. But, it's only because he practices "tough love". The truth hurts sometimes. But, he loves you. And, because he loves you, he will tell you the truth. Sometimes, we do not want to hear the truth, so we feel all butthurt by it. However, deep down...

The best, most appropriate response on that thread was: Only a complete idiot exposes devices to the 'net via port-forwarding.

Been playing with the 4K camera for license plate imaging. I also picked up 4mm, 8mm, and 12mm for comparison to the 2.8 from xinray on aliexpress. The images from the 4mm: You can definitely make out the license plates, and the camera has a nice field of view, but obviously you're not...

AliExpress - Who are people using?

WR = World, CH = Chinese You can only upgrade CH cameras with chinese firmware, which gives you chinese menus. Which is fine, if you also buy Mandarin Rosetta Stone (Actually, you can still configure CH cameras with the english "Batch configuration tool", so in all honesty they're a bit of a...

How to set up and connect to a camera from neihbors home

Mounted correctly, it's unlikely someone who is interested in vandalizing the vacant house will 1) even see your camera, and 2) even if they do see the camera, is going to be carrying around a ladder to steal the camera prior to vandalizing the vacant home. Using your logic, you should probably...

The average human walks 3.1 miles per hour. That's 4.55 ft per second. At 10fps, you're going to get typical movement of 1/2 foot/6" per frame. A horse trotting or cantering is going to average 10 or 14 mph. At 10mph that's ~14.5 feet per second, so even at 10fps you're still going to capture...
