Did I Break My Brand New Dahua Camera Just by Installing It?

As mentioned, it seems to be trying to spit something out, but that could also just be the channel of the DVR itself being recognized by TinyCam and not anything from the actual camera.

Did I Break My Brand New Dahua Camera Just by Installing It?

Did all that. It was installed in place of a working cam with all interior coax in good condition -- probably a 60' run at most. The cam it replaced is back up and working fine.

Did I Break My Brand New Dahua Camera Just by Installing It?

First, it's an HDCVI model A21CM0Z dome camera, not an IP camera. If there's a better thread for such relics, feel free to point me in that direction or have someone move the post. And it's not exactly a new model by any means (circa 2018), but "brand new" to me and new out of the box as an...

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

The DV8M8 arrived yesterday. Nice clean unit. Wonderful feature set. Cool and sensible interface. Tremendous functionality. Does what I want and then some. I'll probably even use it for a certain level of BI redundancy on a couple IP cams -- or at least see how it works for that. Overall I'm...

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

So I'm revisiting the subject and ordered the refurbed Amcrest. Then it dawned on me, maybe you wanted to sell yours? I actually got the ZOSI unit to talk to BI, but only at 7fps for1080p even though VLC was telling me it was streaming at 29. Got tired of scratching my head over it and bit the...

Frame Rate Discrepancy Between VLC and BI

I've been piddling around with one of the ZOSI cheapie "Lite" DVRs and finally found a RTSP url that actually works with the thing on 554 and it's now accessible by BI as well as VLC via RTSP. Live view out the VGA port is, well, live. Clean in. Clean out. The cam I'm messing with is an old...

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

Mine would be strictly TVI cams. Found a factory refurb of your unit for $114. I'm tempted, but at that point I'd probably be better off just ditching the old stuff and using the old coax as pull line for some CAT6. Thing is, I LIKE the 2MP 1080p format for certain things, mostly near field...

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

Looks like yours is where the 30fps starts at 1080 and stays consistent across multiple channels. Lots of complaints about the 5 only supporting 30fps for 2 channels at 1080p with any additional ones reverting to 15...

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

Yeah, that's the 5. Confusing documentation, but says out front 'supports 1080 and lower @15fps', though also mentions elsewhere about the end-to-end streaming zero latency performance, etc. So are all your cams on this unit Amcrest or a mix?

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

Cool. Found that link. Just discovered the 30fps on a spec sheet I downloaded. Still reading... Looks like around 100 bucks with no HDD. There's also a DV5M8 that seems to have the 15fps limit at 1080p.

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

The 12.5 ~ 15fps range is where most of the 'lites' weigh in at 1080p or greater. The cam hits 25 at 960x1080 on the older Swann DVR as reported by BI. I'd be happy with that. What model Amcrest is that?

'Preciate the input. Looks like this would be the Rolls Royce of a 5MP Lite box. Still chops back on the resolution and frame rates to make it all work together under one roof, though...

Full HD 1080p DVR Recommendations -- Yes DVR, not NVR

I've been scrounging for awhile now for a basic h264 true 1080p/30fps DVR that'll actually stream live at 30fps. I posted about trying a ZOSI and am now kicking the tires on an Annke but with very limited satisfaction with either one -- to just provide a basic RTSP stream at 30fps. I have Blue...

There's always Wireshark, but it's been awhile for me and would take some brushing up to even capture anything. The Annke isn't bad, but is another 5MP Lite box with all those associated shortcomings..., and another 20 bucks. Was supposed to be a normal box for anything 2MP and below before the...

Anyone figure one of these out to hang off a Blue Iris server? I bought one to extend the life of some old Swann cams and to play around with one of ZOSIs cheapie 4-in-1 cams to see what they're about. It's one of the 5mp Lite cheapies and about as basic as it gets -- but puts out a remarkable...

    q see cam issue

The Avycom software was certainly key in overcoming the IE / Active-X requirement of the older camera firmware. I spent considerable time trying the various workarounds suggested by others with zero useful results. The Avycom tool worked flawlessly in bringing up the firmware interface without...

General dahua and hikvision questions, along with placement and BI advice

Install Blue Iris on a relatively capable (i5 ~ i7) Intel machine with at least 8 meg o' RAM to get your feet wet with the platform and its capabilities for starters. Sounds like you may have access to plenty of hardware, so grab a rig, a POE switch, a couple POE cameras, hit the "What's this...

    q see cam issue

I'm rather pleased to report that I'm finally able to access the Q-SEE provisioning features through the camera's web interface using AVYCON's IP Specialty Tool. It scans and identifies cameras on my network where all the others I've tried failed to see anything. The camera IP is displayed as a...

    q see cam issue

I'm convinced the issue is one of simply a factory reset and re-initialize process -- given access to the existing firmware by a compatible method. Considering I have the current login credentials of the NVR that provisioned these cameras, there's clearly an additional hook of some kind also...

    q see cam issue

BTW, these cameras seem to default to their factory IP address until they receive an ack for a DHCP request. Still no difference in recognition by any of the software tools or access through their web interface, though -- which still complains about needing the plugin and would probably reject...

    q see cam issue

Thanks for the response and the input. Dahua seems to have been the biggest player for Q-SEE. I read about 'possibly others' in a fairly vague reference somewhere recently, hence my curiosity about TVT. They're not Dahua from what I've been able to determine, but sure seem like they may as well...

    q see cam issue

The TVT Q-SEE cameras I have would seem to actually be Q-SEE branded Shenzhen / TVT cameras, not Dahuas. That said, I also ran across just about every iteration of IP Tool 2.0.x for all of these cameras which appears identical in every instance -- even down to suggesting you should correct your...

So Who's the Resident Q-SEE Expert?

Or should i say Dahua, TVT...? Searching 'Q-SEE' here doesn't turn up much. Need assistance with an older Q-SEE HD 3MP QTN8037BC. -- primarily how to do a factory reset since I'm unable to get video out of either one after replacing the ethrenet connectors. Yes, the pinouts are correct. Have...
