Isn't 265 the newer "better" compression? I know it doesn't seem to work on last years NVR's so it won't be better for those who have them but I thought 265 was better? -

Should I do that on the plastic ones too? I assumed they were supposed to be water tight and ran a little silicone around all the joints. -

DS-2CD2132F-IS sharpness issue
FWIW I loosened a lens last night on a Hik using a cotton swab dipped in PVC cleaner. By the time I put the swab down the glue was ready to pull. I'm trying to get it adjusted out now but I may end up picking up a different lens from the 2.8 here: http://www.m12lenses.com/category-s/64.htm -

Best practice for setup of Hikvision NVR/Cameras
There are settings for the cameras that may only be available through the camera's browser interface (depending on your firmware), I use it first. IVMS 4200 PC/Mac client application is typically for those without a NVR so I have no need for it. -

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool
My thought is that the Hik cams often come with one firmware version on label and a different hacked version running on the camera. It requires reading the label and logging into the camera to see if they are different. We have seen botched hacked firmwares and that could be a possible reason... -

Rainer, What is the country specific code in the NVR's serial number, what firmware version are you on and why are you wanting to upgrade? You have to be careful about mixing cameras from one region with an NVR from another, firmware updates could possibly cause your NVR to no longer see your... -

The cams come from the factory with a label on them that states the original firmware version. Just to be clear, the bad cam has 5.3.2 on the label? I can't remember if you were able to access the bad camera from your browser or not... if you did did you notice which firmware it was actually... -
