    While I get it, I've been using tightly defined plain old MD at night only, in small confined/controlled areas like this, very successfully for years to capture critters. yes I do get occasional false alerts from a big flying bug but it works pretty good Will they have a model for frogs?

    Time Plan settings doesn’t control it. Turn OFF IVS completely on camera AND NVR This is why I asked the question on my post #25 about settings for IVS and SMD associating them with Smart illumination. If there was a dependency there would be an Event Linkage setting.

    Great observation and I'll bet many dont think abut it. If you open that hatch for the SD card on ANY day (except maybe a few weeks in february) in Florida for 30 seconds, I assure you enough humidity will be introduced to get condensation given the right temp change. No hose needed!

    If you aim it as-is more to the left, like where the guy/dog is centered, you'll pick up some distance and yes some angle but it may be fine.

    Now I can add enough white light with external lights to counter much of it. All depends on what you're going to do. Mine is only White Lights on when it sees a human, If I leave a porch light on It will look even better, like any camera

    DMSS and it's bugs - it drives me crazy!

    Mine works pretty good. But then I only update it 1x per year when I know there’s a stable version with improvements or bug fixes I need. Much like most every app on my phone. Pretty sure it’s a 3rd party app not developed by Dahua internally
