    That's great, but I can't do that for over 100 cameras. We'd lose the footage that correlates to the deleted camera too probably. I hope he finds out what the cause is.

    how are you updating camera firmware while using BI?

    You can update whatever you want while BI is running. BI will have a mild panic attack and occasionally display rainbows and other shit, just make sure to restart the service at the end of it.

    For the cameras choose whatever you want for the default gateway, just in the same subnet. You wouldn't choose a default gateway in Windows on the camera interface typically, so leave it blank.

    OK so this isn't doing what I expected. It plays back the alert, then just keeps playing all the way to the end of the clip I guess, instead of skipping to the next alert.

    Would a dual Intel Xeon X5650 Dell R320 perform for a 32 camera system?

    I have a 50 camera system running on a 5th gen i5 with the 530 graphics, CPU load about 40-50%. I tried it on a Xeon and it was a disaster. Ironic, yes, but the hardware decoding is what makes the difference. You should probably read up a bit on those terms you mentioned first though.

I ask for this because my systems have clips divided into 1 hr segments instead of the default 8. Perhaps for alerts, have an option to cycle through just the alerts...
