If a (Dahua) cam SD card or NVR gets stolen, how secure is the footage?

Is it just me but should this whole discussion be based around whether the cameras are located inside a residence or external to the residence. If external, who gives a shit if the SD cards are stolen; of what value could they be to undesirables. Yes, there is a nuisance factor but all this...

If a (Dahua) cam SD card or NVR gets stolen, how secure is the footage?

All my cameras are external. If the cameras were stolen, I have no concerns regarding the data on the SD cards, no need for encryption.

Nice to know my network is working - cameras blocked

I was messing with one of my cameras, reverted the Primary & Secondary DNS (from 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) back to 0.0.0.0 and changed the gateway to 192.168.30.100 (goes nowhere) and yet the camera continued to check both 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 DNS. As an aside, I thought I shot myself in the foot...

Nice to know my network is working - cameras blocked

I'm in the Ubiquity eco-system, have a UDM Pro, a few switches and access points. My UDM Pro was updated a few days ago and I was casually checking the settings page, and then stumbled across triggers. I'm sure the triggers screen wasn't there previously but what it shows are all my cameras...

Windows 11 - Drive alert warning - what does it mean

Hovering over the drive icon doesn't reveal anything. Do I really need bitlocker enabled? The computer will be dedicated to Blue Iris. I'll be de-bloating Windows soon, similar to my other Blue Iris machine.

Windows 11 - Drive alert warning - what does it mean

I'm setting up another Blue Iris machine on a Windows 11 HP Elitedesk. First time using Windows 11. Anyway, can someone tell me what the alert triangle, exclamation mark, means against my D: drive (18TB purple drive)? Image attached. Clicking on properties there is no reference to an...

Format a drive - what allocation unit size

I'm setting up another Blue Iris machine. I've searched and searched and I cannot locate the information regarding what the allocation unit size should be when formatting a harddrive. The drive to be formatted is an 18TB WD Purple drive. 1024 kilobytes comes to mind but I'd like...

Is there a way to have playback on all cameras at once?

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, it also annoys the hell out of me. I keep meaning to lodge a support/feature request so that you are not returned directly to the current live view.

Yep, can't have too many cameras. I've got my driveway covered, not sure if the neighbours have noticed. :lmao:

I changed the thread title from "Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF - 2nd 2.5-inch harddrive" to "[Hack Job] Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF - How to add a 2nd 3.5-inch HDD". It now better represents the course of the thread.

[Hack Job] Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF - How to add a 2nd 3.5-inch HDD

Thanks for the link, I followed it and then checked others. What my concern now is, I think, and I could be wrong, but my plug to the motherboard is a 6-pin plug and the associated power plug for the 7050 mini-tower are 8-pin. My motherboard photo above shows the vacant 6-pin slot. I'll...

[Hack Job] Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF - How to add a 2nd 3.5-inch HDD

Yes, thanks for the info. I do in fact have some cams that are not overly critical, and they are all at the back of my house. I haven't yet needed to check or investigate further any activity at the back of my house. Actually, over two years, I've only had a couple of suspicious things...

[Hack Job] Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF - How to add a 2nd 3.5-inch HDD

Yep, I already have the M.2 chip, 256GB. Even removing the Optical drive, I can't see where I could easily 'duct tape' a second 3.5-inch drive inside the unit. My original question was in relation to using a 2.5-inch drive, as a second drive to my 3.5-inch drive, for surveillance purposes...

[Hack Job] Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF - How to add a 2nd 3.5-inch HDD

Ok, so now I'm looking at installing a second 3.5 inch drive, a third if power requirements are suitable. My first problem is that the power lead to the Optical drive is only a 2-wire lead, whereas the 3.5-inch drive the power lead is a 5-wire lead. I've checked the power lead from the...

So, I finally installed my IR emitter a couple of weeks ago, purely for LPR purposes as my camera is positioned in a letterbox behind glass. I needed a little extra IR. Anyway, I didn't have the option to have it at height and was forced to put it a ground level. It took me a bit of time...
