    Q's New Kit

Q...I have a very similar box I use for electrical supplies...wire nuts ext. Once you get the box set up how you want it, throw a drop of hot glue on the top of those little orange dividers so they don't raise up when you are pulling out a part. Saved me a lot of frustration. Nice ammo...

Self Monitored System w/cell text messages?

+1 here. I have a honeywell vista 20p with the EVL-4 and its great. The only down side is it is internet based. I have my modem, router, and NVR on a UPS so theoretically, I would have internet on a power failure (short of cutting the cable line coming into my house. My router (Synology...

    Smoke detector camera with mic

I looked around a bit...look like you might have to build one. There are a few hidden camera smoke detectors but they are crappy analog cameras. What about getting a pinhole camera and mounting it inside a gutted smoke detector?

    Where to buy

Just connected the EVL-4 this morning before work and got it up and running in about 45 mins. The EVL-4 mounted to my vista 20p via double-stick foam tape and wired into the same terminals as the keypads. I plugged the cat6 into the EVL-4 and the other end directly into my router (had an open...

    Noisy audio output on Camera

Ahh I understand. I'm not to familiar with the topic then. You could check the ground that is powering the speaker. I know from AV equipment, grounds tend to pick up background noise unless you have a ground loop isolator installed in the speaker system.

    Noisy audio output on Camera

Need new Dome Outdoor IP Camera

Don't get too hung up on megapixels. There is a ton more that goes into a good image than just the MP rating

Looking for CCTV solution for poultry farm

I just googled the conversion rate....6000inr is roughly 88USD. You are going to have to increase your budget if you want a decent camera not to mention NVR or computer. Also, provide a better description of what you want. I have no idea what a sade is or what you are trying to accomplish

    NVR: Line Crossing Min/Max

I don't have the new firmware but my understanding is the cameras treat the NVR as the surveillance center...IOW when you have a line cross or intrusion detection, the linkage action is always set to notify surveillance center, and then the NVR performs the appropriate action. Have you looked...

Non-expert advice as well. Check out this video. It looks like there is a way to stop the live view of the cameras and then add them back one-by-one in the order that you want.

Fish Sticks (Push / Pull Electrical Fish Tape) Best $ 10.00 I've spent in a long time

One of the best things I bought. I used steel fish tape trying to fish wires over ceiling tiles...what a pain. The fish rods are much better. You like fish sticks....what are you, a gay fish?

Security suggestions for an expensive zero turn mower

If you go with a traditional alarm panel (honeywell vista or similiar) you can get a pressure mat and tie it into the alarm..just park the mower on the mat, add in a PIR, door/window sensors, and you are good to go. USP-901 9'' x 15'' Indoor/Outdoor Pressure Mat

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

Agreed tangent! I also have a habit of knocking crap over so having everything neat and secured is a plus. As far as cleaning behind my rack, nothing a can of air duster can't fix. Take a picture when you are done, I'm curious to see what you come up with.

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

It would work but personally, It seems like a lot of extra work and since half of your network equipment is going to be mounted to a wall anyway. I don't see why you wouldn't just rack mount everything and when you have to move, just unscrew the rack (since you have to do that with switches and...
