    NVR4208-4K Motion Detection Playback Problem

Are both cameras having this same problem..? If it's just one it could be a camera fault. You never know..

    NVR4208-4K Motion Detection Playback Problem

Not really sure what could be causing that. I have a 5416 series which has a quad core processor.

Mine has a sticker on the outside of the case with the model # and serial #. You should see your serial # in the menu also under INFO -- SYSTEM -- VERSION

Playing sound file when motion detect is triggered

I have the same question stefaand. On my NVR5416 under Setting -- System -- Voice Prompt there is a place to add custom sound files for alarms I assume. I tried to add some basic sound files with .wav, .mp4, and a few others but it wouldn't show up. I don't know what type file the NVR uses....

Can't get NVR to recognize additional cameras

That's good. The IP should all be different. I'm sure someone else on this forum can offer something better to help. You might want to post screenshots of the cameras setting. Originals and new ones..

NVR uses all the HD space.

Actually I don't have the skipping frames problem. I was referring to another post that by ANTO for an issue he is having... Thanks for the info sir.

Dahua NVRs motion record with scheduled record skips frames

I don't know if that would help but it would give you some clues to help figure out what is causing the frames skipping.. If you set it to 2 secs then see if the NVR skips 2 secs instead of 4 secs.

NVR uses all the HD space.

So the only advantage to redundant as far as an NVR goes would be basically a back up drive if one fails... correct..?
  9. J

NVR uses all the HD space.

Good to know. I was just wondering if setting it to redundant would take any load off the processor or help with "skipping frames" problems.. :)

Dahua NVRs motion record with scheduled record skips frames

FYI. On a Dahua NVR the motion detect pre-record setting is 4 seconds.

NVR uses all the HD space.

I wasn't sure about that. Mine is set to overwrite. So basically even if I have 1 camera with 12TB HD space recording for one day the NVR will still use all the space.... Got it.. Thanks. I also have an option for "redundant". Would that speed up read-write speeds as in RAID..?
  12. J

NVR uses all the HD space.

It seems like it's not overwriting files until the HD is full.... Wouldn't it start overwriting files after 5 days and still only be using 4.75TB...? Even after 10 or more days still use 4.75TB because it's erasing files...?

NVR uses all the HD space.

I have a Dahua NVR5416 with 3 4TB purples and 9 4MP cams. (No RAID) After all OS, memory, fees and taxes it comes out to 10.91 TB. I filled in all the specs with an online calculator such as this one...... * https://www.aventuracctv.com/calculator/hard_drive_calculator.asp * It shows I...

    NVR4208-4K Motion Detection Playback Problem

Try adding a setting one at a time. For example on my first NVR I noticed that when I had "snapshot" enabled, email and motion detection, etc the machine might get bogged down and skip a few frames once in a while. Too much going on maybe..

Can't get NVR to recognize additional cameras

Just one thing to check because I'm not familiar with Flir / Lorex systems......... Look at the specs of the other cams on your system and write down the info for each camera. Check the new ones and make sure there is not a IP address conflict. You may have to change that. Not sure how much...

Question About NVR4208-4k by Dahua 8 channel NVR

You should have one fan on the back panel. That's the power supply fan. Is that one noisy also...? This is a pic of a case fan vent on the right side (looking from the front) of Dahua NVR5416. There's also a vent on the left side for an optional fan. Probably not the same on yours but just...

Question About NVR4208-4k by Dahua 8 channel NVR

I just got a NVR5416 from Alibaba last week and it is very quiet. Like nayr said it probably is a matter of replacing a fan. Another fan that is very cheaply made is the one in your power supply. It takes a little more surgery to replace but it can be noisy. I also have a QSee NVR8816 that I...

The powerful IR illuminators should come with a plug in AC adapter and are not POE. Just wire it up like regular outdoor lighting. Make sure you get the 850nM wave length. Most cams have that. (Red glow).

As you mentioned this hobby can be addicting. You might want to look for an 8 channel NVR (or 16).

Dahua zoom camera - need your help

You'd need a good zoom for that distance and a high end camera. That's true. But my question is would an IR Illuminator at the gate help for a camera at the house...? Just suppose he he got a PTZ 3 or 4 MP 30x zoom at the house...? If you zoom in to the subject would the remote IR...

Dahua zoom camera - need your help

I've always wondered this myself but couldn't he put a remote IR illuminator at the gate? Would that help a camera 190' away. It looks like there might be power out there.

Dahua zoom camera - need your help

Just FYI...... I use an HDBW2300R-Z which is a Dahua 3MP motorized zoom (2.8mm to 12mm) At 72' the view is 40' wide. With 12mm you can make out a face at about 40' or so. Good for a short driveway.. :) It cost more but maybe (just my unprofessional opinion) something like a SD59430U-HN...
