    The fact that it can record with an 4k camera is good for me. The 7fps frame rate is ok. Can the NR8326 use 4k cams..? Is there an NVR that has higher fps for 4k cameras...?

    Yes that looks pretty good at night for color. I have the Q-see 8816 NVR. I like it because it's set up for up to 4k cams and up to 4 6T HD (24T)

    What is the "color night vision" feature that Lorex has...? Also those standard 3.6 lenses 4mp that come with the Q-see (and I'm guessing also the Lorex systems) can't make out a plate past about 20ft in the daytime. Pretty useless at night for reading plates or faces.

    I've powered my dashcam (maybe someone could convert into a cheap body cam..?) with a portable battery like the ones used to charge cell phones. Same voltage/amps. It'll run for several hours depending on battery size. You just need a USB to mini USB cable.

    The Costco system I bought had 4MP cams and a few reasons why I wouldn't send it back... The 8816 can hold up to 4 HD for a max of 24T if you need that. Also it supports up to 4k cams. 16 channels with POE. 3T HD was included.

    I watched a little of that "noisy fan" video. That is way too loud. It sounds like it's rubbing against something. I don't know how that passed QC or if they even have a QC. :( Fortunately my fans are all quiet.

    Personally I like the view from the middle picture but of course mount it somewhat higher. I have one mounted like that with a 12mm lens. You might put another cam to cover the front walkway. Can you get any wiring through where the light is on top..? Some wiring might have to be exposed if...

    I have noticed that the case fan starts making noise If it's not exactly right in it's holder after I put the cover on. Just have to move it around a little.

    You might be able to just replace the fan with a higher quality one. I've replaced a desktop power supply fan before that had froze up. :( If you have the same NVR as I have it looks like a standard size fan. I'd have to look again to be sure. The fan was hard wired to the power supply...

    Sometimes setting the NVR back to the default settings works so you can start fresh.

    Maybe you could take the NVR and a camera and set it up at a friends house or anywhere besides yours to see if that eliminates the "dirty electrical" problem.
