    The 4x Dahuas like the DH-SD22204T-GN are well under $200 on Aliexpress. That model doesn't have IR but does see IR.

    For returning to preset, did you go to config/ptz/function/power up and set your preset? That is what did it for me.

    I still have an ESC IPC-1 running but no software anymore. I use chrome with IE tab to configure. Darn thing just won't die, so I can justify a Dahua starlight purchase.

    Remember that many rifle rounds and the more powerful pistol rounds will blast through drywall/multiple drywall easily. It's all debatable but a 12 gauge shotgun with bird shot will be non lethal after the first wall.
