    Color 4k-x 6mm -- Half view out of focus/Blurry

I think Andy stopped carrying those because they had too many issues with focus. I kind of wanted one but passed for that reason.

    PoE , Uplink

Won't make any practical difference as far as the network performance assuming good cable, connections, and all. Probably easier to have all of your switches in one place. Depends more on your cabling to the cameras and how they're distributed, where you have power, etc. In one case you have...

    Youtube is at it again...

It's been doing that for a while now for me. They catch up to the blockers and then the blockers catch up and then... Refresh a few times and you'll likely get past it.

    ONVIF trigger labels

Does it filter based on the tag (as above) for you now?

    Day / Night profile switching

Also maybe of interest, see here for bp's utility and how to use BI to change profiles based on sunrise/sunset: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/dahua-day-night-switch-utility-dahuasunrisesunset.18205/

    Day / Night profile switching

Yeah, thinking about it again I believe you're right re the General profile. I was thinking that kept the exposure and other settings when auto-changed on some of my cams without the day/night but looking again I don't think so. I'm doing something different now but see this thread. I think...

    UI3 help - can't access

I don't know the Mac side well but... Try specifying http (not https) before the IP address. If that doesn't work, you'll need to figure out what setting to change somewhere to permit access to non-secure sites/apps.

    Day / Night profile switching

Yeah, I've done the same with Home Assistant and illuminance from motion sensors. Lots of ways to do it. But to the OP's point, kind of a basic feature and you shouldn't have to.

    Day / Night profile switching

In the first case, if you leave it set as you show, that should auto-switch between Day and Night profiles with their respective image, exposure, and other settings based on ambient light. Whether it actually works or not in the case of a given cam/firmware/etc. is another thing. If not or you...

    Day / Night profile switching

My SD4A425DB has day/night (and a bunch of other profiles) and seems to switch over fine just using the sensor. It also has the newer "Time Plan Settings" schedule with lots of options. I don't recall having any problems with that one as far as switching. Or maybe I'm not understanding what...

IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 Wall Mounting - Direct or Bracket?

It comes wired with a cable to a female weather-resistant RJ45 socket at the end. You'll add a male RJ45 to your premise wiring (and the other side of the weather resistant coupling). Plug together. As above, add some dielectric grease and tape things up well.

IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 Wall Mounting - Direct or Bracket?

I'd go with the PFB203. No big hole all the way through your brick, more simple mounting with the bracket (two small-ish Tapcon screws into mortar, takes no time to drill and easy to repair if you decide to move things), and looks cleaner I think.

    Lock zoom of Dahua IPC

bp's utility will set zoom level (and focus) for some cams. You'd have to try it. Not going to lock it as you want, but could reset it to a point every day/night. https://github.com/bp2008/DahuaSunriseSunset

    The official "WTF" thread

Yeah, I have mine blurred everywhere I could find to do it. Once in a while I'll get a realtor or one of the "we want to buy your house"-type solicitations with the blurred image. ; )

    The official "WTF" thread

In most cases. Some of them pull and update from Street View so you'll get them when you do that. There's also Microsoft's Streetside and some others. But Google is the big one.

Thief caught on camera at my house

That's much better. You might try running it without the cam's IR on. If you have enough external IR, most will look better that way. The cam adjusts internally to the brighter area with it on. You'll get a better overall image in most cases with it off. And if you're going to run the...

    The official "WTF" thread

You can have Google blur the Street View images. On the Street View of your house look at the bottom for "Report a problem" and click and follow the instructions. If there are multiple years, you'll need to do them individually. Also check the view from different directions/angles, sometimes...

    Review: EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 / Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3 - 8MP / 4K Turret Camera

Same. 5842 S2 isn't bad at all but the 5442 S2 is noticeably better low-light. Especially at the margins of lighting and with movement. Haven't tried the S3 but I'd think the same likely applies. The practical difference in what you can resolve isn't as much as you might think (i.e., it's...

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

Yeah, I see the same. Seems to just be a quirk of BI. It doesn't even display mapped drives for selection. If you type it in, it changes the drive letter to the UNC. :idk: I think you'd probably end up the same using the UNC naming after rebuild but I haven't tried it to know for sure...

Looking for input on switching BI to another PC

For Dahau/Amcrest in the BI video setup, the substream string will be: /cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1&unicast=true&proto=Onvif For Hikvision/Annke: /Streaming/channels/102 It's usually on by default, but go into the cams and check. Generally, it's to the right on the same video screen...

    ONVIF trigger labels

Yeah, that's what I'd guessed after trying it... must be relying on something else vs those tags. I tried it using "Confirmed person" which already does exist in the rules config and it still didn't work for me. Maybe I didn't have something quite right. Curious to see how it works for you...

    ONVIF trigger labels

I changed one of my rules to be labeled as "Person" and it passes that through and it's displayed in the clip list, but picking "Person alerts" in UC3 still doesn't pick it up. i.e., the filtered list is empty when I pick that. So UC3 must be looking for the Person/Vehicle/Wildlife tag based...

    ONVIF trigger labels

Yeah, not sure what UC3 is using to know what's tagged as "Wildlife." Metadata in some way? Is the Person/Vehicle/Wildlife only as passed from CodeProject? Anyway, what I described above should pass "Wildlife" and trigger and show "Wildlife" within the clip list. As below, I just have mine...
  24. Mike A.

    ONVIF trigger labels

Your camera would need to pass the term "Wildlife" within the ONVIF event to BI in order for that to trigger. I don't have any cams that have animal detection to see how that's passed. But if it doesn't work as you did it, then at least with the Dahua cams you can name the IVS rule whatever...

Shed Interior Temp to Blue Iris Overlay!

And a damn nice one. Looks great. I ran a couple of research and commercial greenhouses in another life long ago. None were as nicely done as that looks. Good job.

Thief caught on camera at my house

That's better. Getting there. A little more contrast and/or maybe take shutter up a step and that would be pretty good.
  27. Mike A.

Thief caught on camera at my house

Shutter priority can let gain go real high which can lead to noise/blurring with movement, etc. So better to use manual if you can and set shutter and gain limits directly. But that's a lot better. You may have enough light between the cam and illuminator to get away with running shutter...
  28. Mike A.

Thief caught on camera at my house

Try starting with shutter on manual at 1/60. gain at ~50, noise reduction at ~40, SmartIR off, IR on manual at 100, brightness at 55, contrast at 65, sharpening at 25-ish. Can adjust various things up/down from there as needed but that should give you a decent starting point. Also try pointing...

Thief caught on camera at my house

Yeah, same. It can make the whole view dark like that. Post your settings. We can get that working a lot better. Also probably need to move or adjust the cam/illuminator so you're not getting glare which will make the image hazy like that too.
