BI live screen lags but reordering's do not?

Also, are you viewing the BI console directly or via RDP? There's a setting for refresh under Blue Iris Settings > Camera > Video during Remote Desktop.

Very cool! Wish I had a view like that. Edit: Minus the snow. lol

Dumping my old system and starting new! Looking for camera recommendations

PTZs also tend to have a relatively higher lowest focal length. i.e., You’ll be starting out at ~5mm instead of 2.8/3.6 as with most fixed/variable focus non-PTZ cams. So at 25/35 feet to the street/mailbox you’re likely going to have a tighter field of view than you may want at the camera’s...

Any creative ideas for fence mounting a dahua cam?

If you could find one large enough, maybe hide it in something like this:

New house, new network setup advice.

Yes, if you have hardware that supports it and understand how it works/setup in a case like yours where you have mixed things on a series of single cables the VLAN would be the easier way. As I said, all comes down to your risk tolerance and how much trouble you think that it's worth. Better...

One cam showing substream instead of full when selected from BI console

Is like voodoo sometimes. Might as well just hang a chicken foot over the server.

I was about to and then thought maybe try copying it first. That worked. No clue... :idk:

Best two monitor setup? Check post #6

Can you move the window and does it remember the window position? i.e., Can you move it to one of the screens. Close it. Have it come up where you left it? Edit: Ahhh... never mind. It's 'full screen' and not windowed.

One cam showing substream instead of full when selected from BI console

One of my cams, that I've had running for a long time with no changes, today displays the substream when selected from the BI console. i.e., It doesn't switch to full stream when clicked on. Live view direct from the cam is the full stream and fine. UI3 works as normal. BI stats show running...

New house, new network setup advice.

These cams are effectively little Linux boxes with a lot of communications and other functionality that you're dropping inside of your network. So, at least potentially, they can do lots of things. The firmware that comes with them, while likely not directly infected with something, is kinda...

New house, new network setup advice.

That works as far as traffic out. Unsolicited traffic in should be blocked by default as long as you don't open things up. But that doesn't segregate the cams/IOT stuff from the rest of your network. Not absolutely necessary but much better. Depends on your risk tolerance and how much...

5442 S3 series cams and SMD

Just FYI, ODM does work remotely. Assuming that you have access to the cam. I searched Shodan for an open ONVIF cam and could get into it via the IP and ODM. You'd need whatever user credentials for access if not left wide open.

5442 S3 series cams and SMD

It needs to have access to the cam. Normally you'd run it on your network and it goes out and finds your ONVIF cams. But you can enter an IP address. I've not tried a remote IP but think that it would work remotely if the camera was accessible. RDP too I guess but you'd need it running there...

Might also download ONVIF Device Manager. That will let you see the IVS/other events being sent from the cam. That's what I was saying earlier... across all 8 cams/different cams/sources/firmware it must be something happening more centrally as with the NVR.

Help me understand the difference between Face Detection and Face Recognition

Don't think so. Not in the way shown above. BI doesn't 'know' about face detection in the same way that Dahau has functionality to take in the snapshots from the cam and do the rest. i.e., You can have the cam take whatever snapshots/video from that or other functions of the camera, but...

5442 S3 series, weird bitrate issue

None of mine are S3s. But I don't think his 5241-12 that he was showing on the previous page is either. Which is one of the cams that I also tried (in addition to a 5442 S2 and SD4A425DB-HNY). Not worth upgrading anything for me. I was just curious why the difference between his and mine...

Proper settings to cut down on triggers.

Don't need to with that cam. It's AI that's built into the cam. He'll show you shortly.

5442 S3 series, weird bitrate issue

AI codec which forces CBR below when chosen. No ABR available on any of mine. IVS only. Which I think is the same as @bigredfish other than he's running NVR/SPSS and I'm BI on the backend (and he's running higher bitrate/FPS).

5442 S3 series, weird bitrate issue

I've looked at night but that was a well-lighted, busy scene that's effectively pretty much like daylight as far as a bunch of "stuff" in view. I'll set up on one of my LPR cams. That will be a large and more obvious change between black and something else and see what that does tonight.

5442 S3 series, weird bitrate issue

I'm not seeing that with mine. I never see it fall to a rate lower than the rest of my cams running General codec+CBR (or see it spike up). As I said, set at 4MP/8,192/15/15 it stays relatively consistent at ~1,000 kB/s +/- 100 or so. Looks and acts the same as my other cams running the same...

5442 S3 series cams and SMD

Don't know man. lol <shrug> But that's not typical. Something's not right. I'd probably step back and simplify. Try one cam running independent of anything else and be sure that MD and SD are off. For MD, turn it off and go in and define an area of 1 block off to a corner somewhere that it...

5442 S3 series cams and SMD

Just doesn't seem right given my experience or any that I've seen here over a lot of years using IVS. Not on all 8 cams or on anything other than an odd very infrequent basis. Really seems like it must be coming from the NVR in some form. I doubt a quirk of a particular firmware since likely...

5442 S3 series, weird bitrate issue

Great capture. Only references to ABR that I see are for certain Dahua NVRs. And since I don't see the AI codec ramp down/up running BI, I wonder if that's also associated with Dahau's NVRs/SPSS/DMSS? I don't have the same traffic stats in live view on the cam to see the same but BI doesn't...

5442 S3 series, weird bitrate issue

For mine, new interface also without ABR, when you pick the AI codec it locks the selection for Bit Rate Type to CBR. Below that there's a non-selectable Reference Bit Rate that varies depending on what is selected for Resolution (1792-9728 Kb/s @ 2560x1440) . Below that you can set the Bit...

2- IPC T180 display format differences

Try getting rid of the substream in BI and see if you can check the box. When you set it up again, might try turning off the substream on the cam first. Turn it back on and set up the stream on BI after.

    Quickly losing and regaining signal.

I missed where you said that you'd later separated the switches. So mostly rules that out. Do the cams all go down together at the same time or are the drops independently timed by cam? How do you have the cams set up? Bitrate/FPS/etc.? Maybe take one or two down to lower settings and see...

    Quickly losing and regaining signal.

That might be your trouble. Try running the other way around - MokerLink plugged into the Netgear as your backbone switch with various cams on either and see if the problem isolates to the MokerLink. That would be my first shot at it. Might also try forcing the 2.5G ports to 1G if you can.
