Cant figure out what is causing this multiple recordings

This only works if both cameras are using similar bandwidth, otherwise one will be able to store a lot less data.

Cant figure out what is causing this multiple recordings

This is the display that shows how much each camera is using bandwidth at the moment: Is the 90 days requirement so that you need to remove if after 90 days?

Cant figure out what is causing this multiple recordings

I don't see the AvertX camera CBR/VBR setting, does it always use CBR? The Amcrest uses VBR, which means that at 720p it propably is using a lot less than that 768 Kbps limit you have set (propably more like 100-200 Kbps). Don't limit new/stored folder by time, if you want to maximize the...

Cant figure out what is causing this multiple recordings

Power failures are not an issue here, both cameras are set to split at 8 hours (POS creates a new file at 000000, 080000 and 160000). As for why they are giving out different bitrates: propably different settings or different amount of change in image (static image doesn't use much data when...

Issues with over-allocation, gaps in continuous recording

BI checks for over-allocation every 5 minutes, file size does not play a part in managing over-allocation. You just get a little more out of the storage limit you've set with smaller files because you're deleting in smaller chunks.

Cant figure out what is causing this multiple recordings

I don't see any duplicate recordings, only files split by the 4 gigabyte limit (every file has a different name-timestamp / last modified). It looks like your POS camera uses a lot more bandwidth than the Waiting Room one.

Issues with over-allocation, gaps in continuous recording

Another question: how often do you split your video files? I mean size/time. I've set mine to split every 8 hours so I get 3 files per day per camera.

Issues with over-allocation, gaps in continuous recording

Alerts folder only gets used if you store high-quality snapshots. Those are useless, if you do continuous recording anyway. Limiting by time is also propably useless, because you want to maximize the storage utilization and only want it to delete old clips if you're out of space. Here are my...

    Why dedicated PC?

Raid 0 is not redundant at all. In fact, it's worse than a single drive.

Does remote management system cause re-encoding?

    Yes, it will be re-encoded

    UI3 multiple camera playback

Technically it should be able to stream multiple cameras simultaneously, but there's no good way to have them properly in sync, right? (multiple tabs could play back different cameras?) A single stream with multiple cams joined (like group view) would be better, of course.

How does it do live group view then?

5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

Test your settings always with the test mode (from playback, note that it requires a few seconds of playtime to become active). That way you can tweak your settings to perfection. It automatically enables all highlighting and masking so that you can understand what the motion detector sees.

5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

Had to move, enlarge and remove additional ones. But this is probably specific to every cam (environment) and its use case. My issue was just triggering, not detection itself. And I also only record indoors.

Had to adjust some zones, but so far it's working great.

Intel GPU Exposed with Windows Server 2019

What I mean is that you need to see your GPU listed under "Display adapters". It needs to be something other than "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". If You see basic adapter there, You need to install the drivers for the GPU.

    Utilise more RAM?

But that would instead increase the storage I/O.

5.0.3 - New Edge Vector Motion Algorithm

Better stock up on some sample clips to keep testing the settings (with "test run video through motion detector").

    Utilise more RAM?

RAM is only used by BI for processing/input buffers. Disk write buffer is controller by OS in this instance. In essence, BI only uses as much RAM as it needs and you can't save any CPU from writing to disk.

Disabling Windows Updates: All or just video drivers?

Yes, NTP uses UDP port 123 for listening to connections and there's no way around it (well, yes, you can usually make it listen on another port instead of 123, but you still need to open that port up in the firewall inbound rule).

Disabling Windows Updates: All or just video drivers?

Network Time Protocol My router hosts that service so that my cameras will always have the correct timestamp and they're synced. If yours can't do NTP, you can always set the cameras to use an NTP service from the internet and only allow access to that specific service, for example. One option...

Why do you need the files to be in AVI format anyway? MP4 format is specifically created for modern media standards.

    Why dedicated PC?

Pros of a dedicated pc: Playing a game or whatever won't affect your security system (too high cpu load will start skipping video) Having to reboot on your home pc won't affect your security system (downtime) Tinkering with settings/upgrades won't cause downtime for the security system
