How much did your system cost you?

Huh. I am thinking I need to up my security game. A little of this powder and a little of that powder and a couple of wires over to the dining room table… A new layer of security is born!

So when you get an alert that a 'person' is detected you kick off some flash powder in some automated fashion?

    Deepstack still supported

I agree with the general sentiment here on waiting to move to SenseAI. Altering JSON files is trivial - but also the biggest indicator that it is simply not ready for prime time.

    FPS Changes in Blue Iris

@MarkusAgustus I thought the same thing - as I changed the FPS on the camera I thought this had to be in sync with every change I can at least say that I learned something today I also see that the value will float up in that field all the time to a few FPS higher than what I set it to...

Fish eyes for people counting in tough lighting.

“My thoughts is that people counting function would consider them the same person unless they went out of shot (as long as that green box stays around them for).” Even if true, the double counting will be a very pronounced concern and with a fisheye it will be difficult to determine who was...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Couldn't help but notice that the T version was so much sharper on the distant trees than the X (in your video) That is one thing that bugs me alot with the X. Everything beyond my driveway is slightly out of focus and blurry.

Not clicking on a random URL. If you cant provide a reason for posting, then I must assume it is a link to malware. Are you willing to explain what it is you are trying to demonstrate or say? Was the post a fat finger maybe?

Garage camera with relay to open/close garage door

Don't do this This is like a homeowner using their face to disable an alarm system. Any pic off the internet of that homeowner will then disable that alarm system. Hello??! You don't think someone can take a pic of your license plate and show it to the camera? A piece of paper would suffice, the...

    Detect unregistered person scenario

must be correct detection 99% of time Not possible with a facial recognition residential install. Absolutely not possible. You would need to have each person enter a booth that has controlled lighting, controlled distance and controlled camera angle along with numerous attempts to scan the...

Anyone help me with camera selection ?

I think that with your gas concern you may want to find a camera with alarm inputs. Then you can simply run a wire around the perimeter of the 4x6 area as well as through the center and near the fuel pump. If the wire gets wet anywhere along its length, it goes from normally open to closed...

Anyone help me with camera selection ?

4x6 feet? Honestly you could save yourself a lot of concern by just putting a 60 watt light bulb in there. Then you don't have to worry about low light performance. Put a 100 watt in there and most cameras would work just fine. I would still avoid reolink. I agree with @Mike A. , double check...

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

just peeping in real quick. The IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED (Color 4K-X), a POE camera, has a lux rating of .0005 ! Many factors better in seeing in very dim light than .001 or .002 Sorry! I will butt out : )

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

The specs don't read well and the cable pulling sounds painful. But no lag is some kind of win I guess. Thanks for the breakdown on cvi cameras

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

This thread has flipped from poe to cvi (and I don't even know what that is) so I cannot assist. You will find a good camera I am sure!

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

Never even heard of a CVI camera been so focused on POE cameras.

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

Yeah, I did notice the lux rating was very poor by today's standards, or at least for the cameras I run.

Facial recognition ain't Hollywood level at all. You may want to consider not using facial recognition for mission critical security use cases. But if you do, please report back as I would be interested in how well it works for you.

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

That’s fine, but without sensor size there is not much for me to comment on. I see the flyer list it as a 5MP sensor, but that is sensor density and has nothing to do with sensor size. Probably just overlooking where the sensor size is specified!

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

Thanks for the link. Must be a before coffee thing, but I don’t see sensor size listed anywhere. So not sure what thoughts I have on it. Do you like the night time movement performance of that camera?

    Country house in Italy

I run HomeSeer which is tightly integrated with BlueIris. Below are some examples of HS working closely with BI. I don’t use a queue of any sort, it is a home not a business and both systems are on the same subnet. I find queues just another layer to implement, debug and maintain. In 2 years I...

Welcome. Sounds like you run a lot of cameras if you have to run both Blue Iris and a separate NVR. I run 16 cameras on my Blue Iris install.

    1/3" CMOS @ 4 MP versus 1/2.7 @ 5 MP - I have questions

Can you define what is ‘better’? Trying to understand what camera you own and have used at night with motion that is better than many of the cameras that have been recommended on this forum. Also, I am not familiar with a 2/3 security camera sensor size. Not saying it does not exist, just...

Fish eyes for people counting in tough lighting.

I may be mistaken, but I think that the AI counting subroutine counts whatever it sees at the moment. Also, it counts ‘persons’ not ’individuals’ so at the end of the night I am not sure how any total it might end up with would have any use If I understand your requirement, you want to count...

Looking to replace an aging system

Fish eyes for people counting in tough lighting.

AI is relatively new to the security camera field. I note those people are moving around in a rather controlled fashion. Not sure if you will be happy with results of a an actual rave/party type situation due to the close proximity of everyone to each other and the constant movement. You already...

Seeking some guidance choosing first home camera setup

I gotta say that AI in cameras can be a good solution for sure, but for someone chasing the latest and greatest AI in a camera this could be a faulty approach in my opinion. New cameras come out every year. Your cameras will be left on the technical spec roadside in just a few years AI is very...
