Good source to buy IP items at

I wanted to pass on a thank you to milkisbad. After a lightning strike I had to replace 7 cameras; Milk responded quickly and gave me superior service. Between the LTS cameras which have been great to work with, milk, and the LTS company policies, I have seldom, if ever, been happier about an...

Front door/Window to the outside suggestion please/thanks!

My front door set up is very similar to yours but not quite as wide. I had a 3 PM bullet mounted on the right side wall (looking at the house from the front) for about two years. About 5 months ago I upgraded to a 4 MP Turret, 4 mm (Milk is Bad was the supplier) and have been very happy. The...

    Best CAT5E RJ45 Crimp Connectors

I have been using the platinum connectors and crimping tools for the last two years for my home needs. I found that my ability to make a traditionally crimped connector was lacking. With the Platinum tool and connectors I seldom have a bad connector. The pass through feature of the connector...

Need help with optimal placement of 3 or 4 outdoor cameras x-mas gift (urgent) pics

Re: Need help with optimal placement of 3 or 4 outdoor cameras x-mas gift (urgent) pi I know I am a absolute novice at this but it seems as if three or four cameras for such a property is a bit sparse for coverage. So much uncovered. If a person is going to be hired to install the cable, the...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Q2U is absolutely right about the Acti E-33 being a low light looser. Even with the IR auxiliary light I use it is just plain bad at night. If anyone has one of these install it only where daylight is the primary use time. I too cannot bring myself to get rid of this camera as it is so bad at...

    Hikvision DS-7108N-SN/P POE setup

I had a similar problem; it turns out the port on the poe switch was bad. I confirmed this by plugging in a camera that was working into the suspect port, the different camera did not work either.

Best cam to buy price/MP right now?

I initially bought Hikvision Chinese cameras from China. After a couple of years of mostly good service I decided to upgrade. I decided to go the LTS Camera route. Hikvision protocols and quality but with US software and support. More expensive yes; but being able to return the camera if...

    POE Cameras connected by Powerline

Thank you both very much for your observations. Although both are feasible, I am more comfortable with Ethernet. I wanted to see if there was an overwhelming reason to go with powerline adapters. It seems that there isn't. I really appreciate your advice.

    POE Cameras connected by Powerline

Has anyone here use cameras connected by powerline adapters? I have a situation at my parents house where I want to mount cameras attached to the barn. It is a bit of a run and could be done with Ethernet and a range extender but due to the distance, running another 110 volt cable from the...

Need new computer for Blue Iris v4

I wanted to give you my limited experience with BI-4, cameras, Cpu's and cooling. Always have more CPU than you think you will ever need as additional and upgraded cameras always seem to appear. Cooling is important, I have an H100 Corsair liquid cooler with lots of fans. I have never had...

POE switch for 6 Hikvision cams?

I purchased the LTS (Hikvision) POE Switch from milkisbad to update a Netgear switch with port that went bad. This is a full 8 POE switch not an eight port switch with four POE. The Part # POE-SW800G. $129. Works like a charm. Good service from milkisbad.

Any known issues upgrading to 4.x from 3.x?

I recently upgraded also. Everything went smoothly after I remembered to turn off BI 3 before starting BI 4. The program self identified all the cameras and everything worked properly. Interface is a bit different but I'm getting used to it.

Does anyone know the IP Address for

Never did get wincpap to install properly. Then ideas above gave me the idea to try the LTS portal (sdap like program). I found that the cube camera has a completely different default address than other cameras. 192.168.1.126 if anyone ever needs it for the future. Connected through Blue...

Does anyone know the IP Address for

Yes; the camera does not show up. What is strange is that none of my known Swan and Chinese Hikvision camera show up either (all are working properly). I deleted and downloaded the SADP Tool tool to make sure I had the most current version.

Does anyone know the IP Address for

I just purchased a LTS (Hikvision) cube camera (CMIP8932-W) and cannot seem to find the correct IP address. I have used the number in the manual, 192.0.0.84 and the IP for the new firmware on the 4 mp cameras, 192.168.1.64 without luck. I am using Blue Iris and know all is well as the new...

    Version 4 is now available!

I just downloaded Blue Iris 4 64 bit. I have used Blue Iris 3 for about 2.5 years. I was exceptionally surprised that once I figured out to shut down BI 3 and then start BI 4 all my cameras were auto detected. Other than the clips stored through BI 3 not showing (not needed anyway)...
