    If you are dedicating your phone to having the monitor on all the time for a little while... Tinycam has a cool "floating window" mode that puts a small window over everything else on your phone of one camera. I don't think audio works though... But it might be something to try out.

    Maybe you could fit a base onto it that has the screw hole for a tripod. Then you could easily move it, raise/lower whatever for wherever you want to place it and buy a nice long extension cord for the days you want to let the kid roam a little pen in the yard or whatever.

    I would look for the cheapest ONVIF Wi-Fi camera with sound. I wouldn't worry too much about brand, unless you were planning on moving it to a permanent location after it's done with being a baby monitor.

    Download the video file to whatever computer you install SmartPSS on, then do whatever you want with it. It's just a video file at that point, transfer to USB stick, external Hard drive or burn to a CD doesn't matter.

    If you have or plan on getting Dahua cameras, get a Dahua NVR. Any Dahua nvr that meets your requirements wil work with any Dahua camera. Best not to mix and match brands.

    Sounds like your confused....the 8 Channel nvr can record 8 cameras max. The POE version has 8 ports to accommodate this. The 16 Channel nvr can record 16 cameras max and has 16 poe ports to accommodate this. With or without POE, You cannot record 9+ cameras on an 8 channel NVR.
