Blue Iris in a business environment. Who has used it or installed it?

Ever since jumping into the Blue Iris party boat back in 2019, I have only dabbled with Blue Iris in my own personal residential setting. I have learned much of what Blue Iris can offer and can do...I would guess 25% if that. So many options and configurations that do not apply to me, I've had...

    Bi questions

I actually ran Blue Iris on a i7-4770 SFF that was not the full blown 4770 (was it..i ? r? the lower wattage CPU made for SFF mother boards). It was a bare bones system with 8gigs of who knows what speed/manufacturer RAM. My CPU hovered around 40% with 12-16 cameras. That was before all the...

What is the proper way to shutdown BI

Interesting. I have never manually shut down the service to shutdown the entire machine. I shutdown or restart via Windows. I assume, Windows shuts down services automatically.

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

makes me wonder why they never attempted a dual 5442. Dahua chasing after pixels, perhaps? I only have 2 of the 4k cameras in my woodworking shop, not outside for night duty. It is my understanding that 4k cameras have that day <> night tradeoff.

Cabling: Tools rough draft #1. Opinions/Suggestions desired.

this punch tool is the love of my life :) Perfect punch ability (not strong, not weak). It shall stay with me until the internal parts wear out. 12 years and counting....

Cabling: Tools rough draft #1. Opinions/Suggestions desired.

I just read this. Good point on how to attach string to wire. I personally add half-hitch knots. Minimum of 2...but if there some serious torque pressure about to be applied, I go 3 or even sometimes 4. Unsure if a picture would capture how to do half-hitches (if that is what they are...

    Opinions on female-female RJ45 connectors

Our business commercial standard is NoNo in regards to any extention of network cable. But we do it anyways about 2% of the time :) It's frowned upon but it will work. Just means you have an additional point of failure to be concerned about. You can weatherproof a box all you like, but the...

How to block my IP cameras from the internet and my local network?

One day, I'll learn about netmask. For now, I think I have a better shot at learning DIY YouTube heart transplant.

How to block my IP cameras from the internet and my local network?

I have a UDM with Ubiquiti 48 port POE switch. Initially, I ran with the dual NIC card in my Blue Iris machine back when I had a Netgear Nighthawk router. When I swapped to a UDM, I went on the path of VLAN & firewall rules. It was a learning experience. There is no HERE IS GUIDE to follow as...

    VPN and LAN network question

what devices are you connecting via VPN? Point to point (NV router <> Florida router)? or VPN server in NV while using VPN application on a PC in Florida? And what...you expecting to flee this weekend from NV to FL cause of the little bitty freeze coming tomorrow? :) If so, take me with you!

    New shop alarm system

22/2 is the wire gauge for simple door/window sensors 18/4 for glass break detectors and PIR. 18/6 for control pad if one will be out in the garage area (though, not suggested for security reasoning) (pretty sure of the 22 and 18 gauge wiring...it has been a couple years since I did the DIY...

    Dahua Dash Camera

It's probably too late in the engineering/production time frame...but yea...Mini-USB power connection is so 2010 :) Wonder if Dahua can easily swap it out to the Type-C (I think?) power connection before going public.

    Dahua Dash Camera

I am interested because I migrated from one of those little RAM promaster mini-vans to the full sized RAM Promaster 1500 vans. About to pull trigger on a newer tech dash cam but I can wait to see what Andy says about Dahua's timeframe.

Cabling: Tools rough draft #1. Opinions/Suggestions desired.

Another great thing a non-professional home environment, are those garden stools, foam flooring square sheets, yoga mats, etc. Your knees will thank you. At work, the youngins are ok to set on their knees. But not me at 52. I prefer sitting on my 5 gallon bucket of string.

Cabling: Tools rough draft #1. Opinions/Suggestions desired.

    * I made a booboo * In the above #4 picture where I have a closeup of the 99.9% correct looking jack inside of a jack punch down block... the White/Blue copper is NOT seated. All the other copper is as you can see everything is flat going into the termination blades. It humps over the blades...

I did want to add some pictures I took while at work in regards to how to terminate cable on a patch panel and a jack... and what to look for, before I deleted them or forgot about them. In this picture, I am terminating Cat6 to a patch panel to port #2. I already have a cable on port #1. I...

    What doorbell camera in 2022?

The VTO does exactly what it is meant to be. It's a "Villa intercom" device, not a doorbell. However, many use it as a doorbell like myself. The added benefit is that you can add multiple VTH's throughout the house which means you do not need the smartphone always attached to your hip to...

And so...I started a new lawn with grass seed...need to snapshot pics for next 3 months. Interval for time lapse?

Everything is going AOK, mostly. I initially threw down Fescue (drought tolerant) grass seed in the middle of August that I bought for $20 and tried hand watering. Pain in the butt to do this manually 3 times a day. Hence, I pursued this above ground sprinkler project which is a wonderful...

    Wiring help

In a emergency pinch, I was able to use HDMI at 100' since my Blue Iris machine was downstairs and my smart tv was upstairs without any issue (2 years ago? whatever version HDMI was at that time). I later added chrome to the TCL Roku TV (since Chrome was not native, it was a pain) which enabled...

    Dahua IVS + BlueIris

If you really want a headache... you can actually research what ONVIF information is sent that Blue Iris can take. I had to do that with my PTZ that was not homing (well, it was going to default home, not selection #1 HOME).

Is there an API for changing night/day modes on Dahua?

I used the dahua day/night utility for years, it's a must. Bonus if you run home assistant with dahua camera integration.

Well...that was interesting. After upgrading Blue Iris, no images in ALERT column. It was a DB error in the end.

It's that time of year where I move, re-purpose cameras, re-set a bunch of configurations for the camera GUI configuration itself and Blue Iris configurations. I noticed the latest BI update available so I did that. Upon restart, no alert images were visible any longer for the alert tab. For...
